National Day for Truth and Reconciliation 🧡
Today is a day that carries deep meaning. It is a day to pause, reflect and remember the children, Survivors and the families who continue to carry the impacts of that history.
The board of IRN believes Truth and Reconciliation is not only about remembering - it's about listening, learning, acknowledging and taking meaningful steps towards a better future.
Today, hold space for the stories of survivors, for their children and families, and for the generations who continue to find strength, healing, culture, language and connection.
Reconciliation is not something we can leave to someone else. It is a shared responsibility built through everyday choices, relationships, respect and action.
We encourage you to read through the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's Calls to Action and enact one call to action to see how you can make a difference.
We wear orange not simply as a s symbol, but as a commitment to remember, to listen, to learn and to do better.
🧡 Every Child Matters
- The Board of the Indigenous Resource Network

Our Chair Michael Fox has spent years working at the intersection of Indigenous communities and economic development. His new Ontario report puts numbers behind that work:
✔️$27.21B in direct Indigenous economic output.
✔️More than 214,000 jobs.
We’re proud to have his leadership at IRN.

Red Dress Day on May 5th is a national day of remembrance and awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2Spirit People (MMIWG2S+).
It is a time to honour the lives lost, recognize the families and communities impacted, and acknowledge the ongoing reality of violence faced by Indigenous women, girls, and 2Spirit people in Canada.
The red dress was created as a symbol by Métis artist Jaime Black. It represents both absence and presence. It reminds us of those who are missing and calls attention to a crisis that continues today.
This day is not only about awareness, but about accountability and action.
