Wall Street had its worst week since June. Hot CPI, $110 oil, chip stocks down eight days in a row.
Bitcoin gave up 2.5%.
The usual explanation fits in one headline. I’d rather show it on the charts: which holders stopped selling, which buyers never showed up, and the one level I’m watching into the weekly close.

Only 4.4% of the 6-12 month old $BTC that moved in the last 30 days went to exchanges. In the window ending Jun 17, it was 40.4%.
These coins mostly come from buyers near or after the 2025 top. Monthly volume stayed between 143.7K and 216.5K BTC. The share sent to exchanges collapsed:
- Ending Jun 17: 40.4% (63.8K BTC)
- Ending Jul 17: 30.9% (46.8K BTC)
- Ending Aug 16: 9.8% (14.1K BTC)
- Ending Sep 15: 3.7% (7.9K BTC)
- Ending Oct 15: 4.4% (9.1K BTC)

Bitcoin spot ETF demand turned positive for 2026.
It's +2,312 BTC for the year. In Q4 2024, ETFs added another 197,194 BTC, while Q4 2025 ended at -28,067 BTC.

$BTC squeezed back to $80K this week. Every demand reading stayed negative the whole time.
Spot demand growth -199K BTC and falling. Coinbase Premium negative 166 of 168 hours. Corporate treasuries bought just 5,900 BTC in 3 months, vs 100K+ a year ago.
Short covering drove the bounce. Real buyers never showed up.
