The thing about imperialism is that it is ubiquitous and impossible to avoid.
Nigerians who think they can have intelligent discussions around politics, economics and business without acknowledging imperialism are just like a castrated man who wants to marry a wife and have kids, but doesn't want to acknowledge his condition.
I'm sorry, but just because you're in denial, or the subject makes you uncomfortable, or you don't want to upset your white friends and investors by talking about it does not mean that this 800-foot elephant in the room is going to disappear.
The imperial system you live under is why you eat imported rice and your bread is made with imported wheat, while your own agricultural land is used for industrial monoculture plantations growing export crops you can't eat like cocoa and cashew.
Imperialism is why your kid goes to school wearing a neck tie, a wool sweater, a thick blazer and cotton socks while the temperature outside is 33⁰C.
Imperialism is why you put on your TV news and the presenter is chewing her tongue desperately trying and failing to mimic the accent of a public school headteacher from Abingdon-on-Thames, whereas literally nobody in the history of her watching audience has ever sounded like that.
Imperialism is why your central bank interest rate is always double digit, which means that consumer credit is literally nonexistent. No amount of roundtable sessions, seminars, and breakfast meetings with the bankers committee and PhD economists can change that basic eternal reality of your economy.
Imperialism is why despite having double digit central bank lending rates, your currency somehow manages to always face inflationary pressure and regularly posts double digit percentage losses in a single day. You can do all the clever economic chart drawings and financial engineering you want, but they are completely useless in the face of imperialist decisions like Structural Adjustment Programs, which you experienced by other names from 1986 to 1988 and from 2023 to 2025.
Imperialism is why you can have all your lovely ideas for leadership and governance, and a young population that is hungry for good leadership, but everytime you go into a "democratic election", you end up coming out with Muhammadu Buhari and Bola Tinubu. You can read all your "Why Nations Fail" and do all your "PVC sensitisation drives" and do all the "protect the votes" on election day, and at the end of all the wahala, the INEC chairman will announce that a crippled goat with craw-craw has won the election and if you don't like it you will go and meet Kekere-Ekun in court.
Imperialism is why when you are having sex with your partner, you moan in English and make American noises even though you've never left Owerri before, and your sexual encounters always happen with a specific sequence that starts from oral and culminates in doggy - it's because all the porn you have ever watched in your life has been hosted and curated by American platforms, and you have over time taken on their sexual personality as your own.
Imperialism is why you build with cement blocks plastered with concrete in your 34⁰C climate, even though concrete generates vast amounts of heat as it cures, and it can take years to fully cure, during which time it slowly cooks you in your own house - but rammed earth which your ancestors used is only just becoming a thing once again because white people have "discovered" it and put a brand on it that makes it desirable after they once labelled it as 'primitive'.
I could go on and on. As long as you're determined to avoid confronting the ubiquitous and all-pervasive reality of imperialism in Nigeria, you're not really ready to confront whatever problem you are facing, from food to healthcare to education to public policy to poverty.
If you're not acknowledging that underlying reality, you're just another Nigerian wasting their whole life performing the appearance of thinking, and creating useless content.

"Take your hands away from that bil, DROP IT!"......Pastor Chris warns.
Ladies and gentlemen, the National Assembly has a bill to create a Nutritionist Registration Council with the following:
1. Threat to National Food Sovereignty: The Bill creates an expansive licensing and regulatory monopoly that surrenders vital aspects of Nigeria's food and nutrition systems to a single professional interest group, funded by international organizations, open to international standards (which includes, GMOs, ultraprocessing, non cultural, etc. etc), undermining national control.
2. Criminalizing Indigenous Knowledge: Sections 23, 27, and 28 criminalize the "practice of nutrition" with heavy fines and up to two years in prison.
Because the Bill leaves this term undefined, it threatens family food traditions, cultural diets, and community extension work.
I hope we know what this means. The Practice of Nutrition is not defined, yet, if you're not a BSc holder, you can't practice nutrition. It will be left to a court to decide if the practice of nutrition involves the local chef who doesn't have a BSc, or the local recipe passed down generations.
Nobody owns the right to determine nutrition. Nobody.
3. Usurping Existing Mandates: The proposed Council bypasses established regulatory authorities like the NUC, NBTE, NAFDAC, and SON by asserting unchecked control over educational curricula, institutional accreditation, and national food standards.
This means, the proposed council will determine the standard of nutrition, what is right or wrong, control the curriculum on nutrition; the entire body of knowledge on Nutrition, override the University educational structure,
4. Risk of External & Commercial Capture: Section 32 allows the Council to accept unrestricted foreign grants, endowments, and donations without local transparency safeguards.
Infact, during the public hearing, a Professor stood up in support of the bill saying, 'we don't even need Federal Government's money- we have foreign donors'.
Combined with a closed board dominated by a single professional association, this opens the door to external and industrial influence.
5. Exclusion of Indigenous Custodians: The composition of the Governing Board (Section 5) fails to include any seats for traditional knowledge holders, agroecological practitioners, or community-based food and nutrition advocates, concentrating power solely within a closed professional association and state officials.
I'll stop here first. The summary of this, is that Bill Gates and his cronies will legally determine what is good for you to eat.

Keeping everyone (including Africans) completely ignorant about Africa and the central role it plays in the economic and natural world is a core feature of Europeanised education, not a bug.
You're not supposed to know that the DRC is the most resource-rich country in the world, with an estimated $24 trillion sitting under its soil. You're not supposed to know that the rise of "western civilisation" from the 15th century on was entirely made possible by European contact with Africa, and that the resources and labour extracted from coastal West Africa from 1492 onwards are the entire reason why both American continents exist in their current form.
You're not supposed to know that both WW1 and WW2 were essentially wars fought over the right to African colonial domination and expansion, and that even the uranium that was used in "Little Boy" and "Fat Man" dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki came from Shinkolobwe uranium mine in eastern DRC. You're not supposed to know that the reason the country of France exists in its current form is because tens of thousands of conscripted West African soldiers fought and won against the Nazis in Europe, and the French thereafter shipped them back to West Africa and massacred them at Camp Thiaroye in Senegal to avoid paying them their due wages.
You're not supposed to know that there was nothing cold about the so-called Cold War, because the vast majority of the hot theaters it was physically fought in were on the continent of Africa. (Zimbabwe, DRC, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Angola, Eritrea, Zambia etc). You're not supposed to know that the ongoing Ukraine war and the war in the Sahel are in fact the same conflict being fought by the same 2 sides, and that the reason France is desperately pushing funding and arms to Ukraine even as it falls into internal crisis is that Ukraine is acting as its proxy army in West Africa, as it tries to regain its lost colonial territories there, especially Niger where the cheap yellowcake uranium for its famously cheap nuclear energy used to come from before the 2023 revolution.
You're definitely not supposed to know that the entire global economy and system of trade as you know it is built on ruthless extraction from Africa and ensuring that Africa does not control anything it exports. You're not supposed to know that "Italian leather" doesn't come from Italy - it comes from Kano, Nigeria. You're not supposed to know that "Swiss chocolate" does not exist because cocoa does not grow anywhere in Switzerland or Europe - it comes from Ghana, Cote d'Ivoire and Nigeria. You're not supposed to know that Israel and the UAE control the global diamond and gold markets even though Israel has no diamond mine and the UAE has zero gold mines, because both resources are literally being stolen from the DRC and Sudan on an industrial basis.
You're basically not supposed to understand that the entire geopolitical world as you know it, rests entirely on extraction from Africa, poverty of Africans, and your own ignorance about where everything you use comes from.
Completely deliberate 500+ year-old feature, not accidental bug.

Here are some rhetorical questions.
1. Which entity is Africa's largest trading partner and only source of meaningful technology transfer, infrastructure investment and material upliftment via cheap consumer goods?
2. For which entity did the US govt recently dedicate a $1.6bn propaganda budget to fight its growing influence in the world?
3. Materially speaking as an African, which of these 2 entities has had a measurable positive impact on your quality of life? The one building your railways and giving you cheap technology, or the one spending billions to invade your mind and place poisoned information there?
4. Why are you suddenly seeing videos and narratives like "Chinese woman holds her nose when African woman boards bus" being promoted aggressively across US government-controlled platforms like this one? Whose interest do these things serve? Yours? Or theirs?
Learn to be skeptical. Gullible people who take everything presented to them at face value will likely not survive this decade.
Nigeria's "China Must Go" Bandwagon: Who's Writing the Script?
Nigeria's commercial capital Lagos recently witnessed an outpouring of anti-Chinese sentiment allegedly caused by the encroachment of Chinese merchants into the last-mile retail space at the expense of local traders.
While the upheaval might appear on the surface to be the organic and understandable result of a tough economic situation, @Big_Mck's latest story is another reminder that Africans living in the Age of Information are duty-bound to exercise healthy skepticism and carefully examine every social movement before lending their energies to it.
The Spearhead's Senior Reporter has been looking into what has quietly been happening in the background of the supposed anti-China movement in Nigeria, and some familiar patterns and suspects are lurking yet again.

How much more Sani Abacha?? Who refused their IMF loans, Nationalised Nigeria’s resources and while Under sanctions, with “ZERO” foreign borrowing took Nigeria's reserves from $494M to $9B, cut inflation from 54% to 8.5%, and reduced national debt by $9B.
He also built Nigeria's first nuclear research reactor in 1996, alongside Ghana and Syria, both of whom faced their own US-linked destabilization.
Ghana's JJ Rawlings survived a documented CIA assassination plot. The 1994 Abiola uprising nearly toppled Abacha's government through a 12-month oil strike funded in part by Kudirat Abiola, whose own radio station was US/British-funded, and who was assassinated en route to Canadian High Commission.

China Lifted 800 Million Out of Poverty Without the Gospel, Meanwhile 63% of Nigerians armed with the Gospel, that’s 2 out of every 3 Nigerian lives in multidimensional poverty.
But your Job isn’t to learn how China pulled it off it’s to abandon the critical thinking, industrial strategy and work it took for China to lift over 800 million of her citizens out of poverty in just 40 years and focus on the Gospel.
However @officialEFCC has declared that diverting religious contributions such as tithes, offerings and zakat into private business is a criminal offense that will attract prosecution
The Question every Nigerian must ask is if this truly is aligned with their success and well being or is their reward waiting for them in heaven??

First of all, your social media outrage, boos, or cheers are completely useless to me. Nobody here feeds me, and if your knee-jerk emotional reactions made any difference, you wouldn't have that thing sitting in Aso Rock calling itself "president". Whenever you are done crying, you'll drink garri and shut up like you always do.
Second, for the benefit of the 10-15% of Nigerians who are still teachable and whose brains aren't completely rotted out by Nigerian Bantu Education and region-specific social media algorithmic programming, I want to ask a rhetorical question.
If like most Nigerians, you have no idea that General Sani Abacha established Nigeria's first and only nuclear reactor and nuclear research facility in 1996, the same year the US launched an urban bombing campaign in Nigeria and started giving arms training to Nigerian exiles in a nearby West African country ahead of a planned armed insurgency that was supposed to kick off in 1998 (I've personally spoken to at least one of these people), then what else don't you know about who or what Sani Abacha was?
What do you actually know about what his government represented to Nigeria beyond the same things you have heard for nearly 30 years? If it wasn't until as recently as 2018 that Nigeria was forced to give up its 1kg of 90% weapons-grade Highly Enriched Uranium which it obtained from China under the program Abacha's government created, and you had no idea when all this was happening, then what else don't you know about Nigeria?
Remember, the target audience of these questions is the 10 - 15% of Nigerians whose brains aren't already calcified and resistant to information. If you're part of the "I have 5 degrees so I am smarter than everyone else" or "I watch Gehgeh live streams" communities, kindly scroll past. This message is not for you.

The wait is over. Grey Network Validator Nodes are officially live and available for activation.
The first batch of 200 Validator Nodes is now open at the lowest available rate across the entire validator rollout. Each user can activate a maximum of 10 Nodes. Once the first 200 Nodes are allocated, the next batch will be released at the announced higher rate.
Validator participation rewards are already available from the current stage of the network. When Grey Network goes onchain, Validators will participate directly in network validation and earn a share of transaction fees generated across the Grey Network, adding another reward mechanism tied directly to network activity.
𝟭,𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗡𝗙𝗧𝘀
In addition to the previously outlined Node benefits, every Validator Node purchased will come with the right to mint one exclusive Epic NFT collectible at no cost. This means 1 Node equals 1 Epic NFT, 3 Nodes equal 3 Epic NFTs, and the maximum 10 Nodes equal 10 Epic NFTs. With only 1,000 Validator Nodes available, a total of 1,000 Epic NFTs will be allocated exclusively to Node holders.
Beyond this allocation, 100 additional Legendary NFTs will be reserved for users who purchase the maximum allocation of 10 Validator Nodes. Every user who reaches the 10 Node limit will receive 1 Legendary NFT, in addition to the 10 Epic NFTs attached to their Nodes.
This brings the total collection to 1,100 NFTs: 1,000 Epic and 100 Legendary. These collectibles will have long term utility within the Grey Network ecosystem, unlocking exclusive features and future benefits for holders. As the ecosystem expands, their utility and significance will grow considerably, with the potential for substantial swap/sell value if holders ever choose to trade them.
Validator Nodes are live. The exclusive NFT allocation begins with Node ownership.

Since you asked , this is what dictatorship did for me.
It will be the closest you’ve get to sovereignty
It took my foreign reserve from 493 million to 9.6 billion dollars under heavy sanctions.
Took inflation down by from 72.8% to 8.5 in two years
Was paying off almost my debt
Was setting up the strongest military power in Africa which old have made it hard for the exploiters to enter today
Was moving money outside SWIFT rails which would have enabled us build our systems eventually
Was rejecting every loan offer
Was rejecting that demonic strategy called Structural Adjustment Program
Was making sure the giant of Africa remained giant.
And what did you to it,
You reduced development metrics to food scarcity
You refused to accept that those who are talking bad about this country needed to go
You refused to follow, coz fuel scarcity is something so devastating, that could not be survived by you
You joined international powers to call it dictatorship even though the international power needed dictatorship out because it didn’t give them access
Your silence gave them concerned and they killed the dictator
It’s been over 30 years, how far.
Democracy has looted more than 600 trillion naira from Nigeria
Democracy took everything that belonged to us and privatized it
Democracy takes loans like a bitch on steroids
Democracy took our currency down by thirty four thousand (34,000%) percent.
Democracy made you believe your voice didn’t matter
Democracy shot at you when you tried speaking up
Democracy killed you at toll gate
Democracy banned you from social media
Democracy destroyed all systems such that your democratically chosen nafdac official laughs at the news of removal
Democracy made both citizens and leaders criminals just with different task
Democracy partners with evil corporations to kill your plants so you depend on GMO
Democracy accepted drugs from everyone because it’s cheap and kids in Kano died in numbers
Democracy made your women reduce themselves to marriage counselors and not leaders in energy
Democracy turned your men to charlatans and criminals
Democracy worked with America in terrorism finance and arms deal
Democracy kidnaps your kids as political pawns
Democracy takes blood from you everyday
If dictatorship were here, you wouldn’t even last a day here, you would be farming and serving your country
I apologize to dictatorship for how much we never appreciated it.
Also welcome to democracy, congrats, everyone loves you now but be careful
You have eaten too much and you might implode
For now enjoy-

I survived a whole kidnapping attempt.
I lived under Anas's protection for months with armed police assigned on permanent patrol outside the house. If you're familiar with Ghana, you know how unusual it is to see police patrolling with machine guns in public.
When I eventually had to go hide in Kenya for a while in 2023, I was switching short lets every week because I was a whole fugitive. I wrote a 590-page book about this. That book was on @Rovingheights's 2024 bestsellers list.
And though all this, after selling 30% of West Africa Weekly for $30,000, I used some of that money to fund a federal case in the US for the specific purpose of "holding my government accountable" - the exact same federal case that is still the closest thing that exists to an actual challenge to your president's power in Nigeria.
I physically served papers to the US Department of Justice and lit myself on fire to "hold leadership accountable" so what the fuck are these people talking about? People who have never even sent a written petition to their local council chairman are attacking someone who has taken a sitting president plus the FBI, DOJ, CIA, IRS, DEA and State Department to court for "not holding leaders accountable"?
Is everybody in Nigeria high on crack cocaine?

THERE IS A GAME INSIDE THE GAME
Nigerians are funny people.
Tell them entertainment can be used to influence society, and they will laugh and say, “Abeg, na music.”
Tell them films can shape political thinking, they will say, “Na film, relax.”
Tell them foreign powers can use culture to influence a country, they will call you a conspiracy theorist.
Meanwhile, the same Nigerians will buy a shoe because Rihanna wore it, copy American slang, human hair, relationships, fashion, politics and even mannerisms.
But somehow, the media does not influence them. Osisko!
I have worked in entertainment for years. So I know one thing very clearly:
Entertainment is never just entertainment.
America knows this very well.
The United States openly uses what it calls cultural diplomacy. Music, film, journalism, scholarships, fellowships, festivals and creative-industry programmes are all part of how countries build influence abroad.
Even the U.S. State Department has programmes specifically using film and music to advance American foreign-policy objectives.
So this thing is not hidden.
Na we dey pretend not to understand.
And it goes beyond Hollywood.
Some Nigerian filmmakers attend American-funded programmes.
Some Nigerian journalists and news organisations receive grants, fellowships or institutional support from American organisations.
Some Nigerian music executives and creatives are brought into American mentorship and industry programmes.
Some Nigerian record labels and entertainment companies have received foreign investment or entered partnerships with major American companies.
Does that automatically mean they are CIA agents?
Of course not.
But does money, access, training, distribution and international recognition create influence?
Use your tongue to count your teeth.
America doesn't need to enter a Nigerian newsroom and say, “Write this.” Or call an artist and say, “Sing that.”
Modern influence is smarter than that.
Funders decide what they fund.
Platforms decide what they promote.
Festivals decide what they celebrate.
Labels decide who gets an international push.
Streaming platforms decide what appears on your screen.
Algorithms decide what millions of Nigerians repeatedly see.
And repeated exposure eventually becomes culture.
That is the real power of media.
If I can control what your children watch, what your youth dance to, who they admire, what lifestyle they desire, what country they dream of escaping to and what values they consider sophisticated, why exactly do I need to invade your country?
You will colonise yourself.
Voluntarily.
This is why I laugh when people say entertainment is “just entertainment.”
Entertainment is business, culture, propaganda, diplomacy, social engineering and entertainment is soft power.
Sometimes it is all of them at the same time.
The problem is not that America understands this. The problem is that Nigeria does not.
America promotes American interests.
China promotes Chinese interests.
France promotes French interests.
Britain promotes British interests.
Nigeria?
We are still arguing on Twitter about tribes, jollof and Davido vs. Wizkid😂
Meanwhile, our music, films, news, platforms, distribution channels and cultural gateways are increasingly connected to foreign money and foreign institutions.
And we are expected not to ask questions?
Please.
Follow the money.
Follow the ownership.
Follow the distribution.
Follow the platforms.
Follow the grants.
Follow the fellowships.
Follow who controls access.
Then draw your own conclusions.
Because, like I wrote under that angry music executive’s post:
“Well, well. There’s a game inside a game. You might have been played without knowing it.”
And knowing Nigerians, some people will still finish reading this and say:
“Abeg, na just entertainment.”
Exactly. Ptcheewwwww
One day you will know that your American dream is America's dream.
