There’s something many traders don’t understand
It’s one thing to know how to analyze the market correctly and it’s another thing to know how to manage trades
knowing how to analyze the market solves only about 20% of the problem imo
Risk management makes up the remaining 80% when it comes to trading
your ability to make money in trading is largely based on how well you understand and apply risk management
this includes :
- knowing when to take profits
- Knowing how to adjust your stop loss while your position is still open
- understanding your position size in relation to your stop loss
- and managing your leverage - avoid using excessive leverage
you also need to understand the capital you’re trading with, how much collateral you have and how much risk you can afford to take on each trade
this is something many traders overlook, especially beginners. even experienced traders make this mistake often due to overconfidence
