On the morning of November 1st, Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi was abducted by armed men wearing police uniforms.
Despite clear evidence that police forces carried out the abduction, the Kenyan police continue to claim that Abshir is not in their custody. If not, then where is he?

The displaced somali tribes like the Garre, Ajuraan, Degodia joined in later after the core military structure, was broken by the Darood groups. This was a Jihad called upon by the Darood religious leaders after Islamic practices was severely limited to the somalis.

The abduction of lawyers, the disappearance of citizens and the killing of people are deeply troubling developments that cannot be ignored. We have seen this chapter before under the government of former President Uhuru Kenyatta. Abductions, intimidation, extrajudicial killings and the targeting of people who dared to speak out became major human rights concerns. Kenyans should never have to relive those dark days.Your government must not allow Kenya to return to an era where people live in fear, lawyers are targeted for doing their jobs, and citizens can disappear without accountability.
The abduction of Wakili Abshir must be treated with the utmost urgency. His whereabouts, safety and legal rights must be established. Those responsible for any unlawful detention or disappearance must be held accountable.

Following UNGA Resolution 442 (V), Italian Somalia had independence confirmed for 1960. British Somaliland did not

Somaliland lives in a unique environment internationally. Its international personality was highjacked by a territory and this was legitimised through the UN by bypassing UN Security Council Provisional Rules of Procedure (Rule 59) which checks legal basis of states joining the United Nations.
In the international system there isn’t a Somaliland and Somalia as two state that united. There isn’t even the trust territory that merged into Somaliland. There is British Somaliland and Italian Somaliland were united and became independent as one country. There is the name Somalia with the independence treaties and constitution of the State of Somaliland.
Somalians are literally like Nazis and they feel because Somaliland is internationally blocked from any legal venue that they will be able to genocide us take our land and history. Since the establishment of the SYL party post 1945 the international community has been working with them to build a flat national identity. This was accelerated by the soviets post independence. This is to wipe out the unique identity of Somalilanders and specifically Isaaqs.
This means even if they kill all of us they will get away with it as they will say we’re one people. Because Britain Italy and the UN are involved non want the historical burden of what they did.

An Advocate, Abshir Ahmedsadak Abdi was abducted on 1/11/26 along Muchai Drive. His motor vehicle was recovered on the same road. The incident was at Kilimani Police Station - 55/1/11/2026 .
Reports from people who witnessed the incident, indicate he was pursued by 2 motor vehicles, a Prado TX and a double cab. The occupants of those vehicles had guns and 2 were in what seemed like police uniform and bullet proof vests.
The abduction is linked to a case he’s involved in against some senior police officers & he’s been subjected to various intimidation tactics prior to this incident.
An attack against an Advocate is an attack on the administration of justice and due process of law. The involvement of police in extra judicial abductions continue to prevail despite repeated assurances that they will end. The police cannot behave as if the life of a Kenyan doesn’t matter. They are not above the law.

What a week !
Somalia now in severest full-blown constitutional crisis in decades.
A timeline:
💠 11 October: Opposition leader Sheikh Sharif lodges petition with Supreme Court challenging incumbent President's unilateral constitutional changes, electoral model and term extension.
💠 4 November: President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud (HSM) dismisses Supreme Court Chief Justice Bashe Yusuf Ahmed via Facebook announcement, appoints ally and ruling party JSP member to pre-empt adverse ruling on the opposition petition by the Supreme Court - a gross violation of the rules which give Bashe security of tenure, protects him from outright dismissal by the chief executive.
💠 5 November: A five-member Supreme Court panel of judges (minus Bashe) goes ahead and rules that HSM is in office unlawfully, that his term ended in May 2026, that the Parliament's own mandate ended in April 2026, and further directed that all political parties engage to agree a new electoral framework, before organising fresh elections in 90 days.
The verdict effectively nullifies HSM's unilateral term extension, invalidates both his electoral model (the so-called OPOV) and the April-May 2027 poll timetable.
Opposition alliance SFC members welcome ruling.
💠 5 November: A defiant HSM vows to press ahead with his electoral scheme. Ruling party and regime hardliners pick the cue and allege Bashe conspiring with 'foreign enemies' to subvert the state and democratic aspiration of the Somali people.
