I'm heartsick to learn that a few hours ago our friend and colleague Joe #Kittinger went on to higher #exploration. In 1959, Joe made a jump from #space and into the imaginations of budding engineers throughout the world.
Through his bravery, Joe opened a new plane of possibilities. Joe was widely accomplished, receiving many accolades including a Purple Heart, The Distinguished Flying Cross, and Prisoner of War Medal.🇺🇸
At the @ExplorersClub, Joe attended events, gave talks, was generous with his knowledge and time. We'll deeply miss his spirit and laughter. 🙏😔
