Notice how the media narrative was always anti Vettel

We’ve known this but the media twisted the narrative from the get go. Had this been any other driver, the blame would’ve been on the car rather than the driver

'He blitzed everybody in a car far less superior.' Lewis Hamilton on Sebastian Vettel: "We've always probably connected, because we've come from similar sort of backgrounds, in a sense of, we didn't come from privileged backgrounds, we both came from normal working-class families, and there was a real struggle on the journey to get to Formula 1." "I would always see with Sebastian when he's had his dad there, his dad's such a cool character, and always so nice and polite, and obviously worked so hard to create the opportunity just like my dad." "I had read about the success he was having, I think he had something like 18 wins out of 20. Everything happened very early for him, in a sense that he, when he got to Formula 1, he got that amazing pole position in Monza, and one in the rain, which was just showed how precise and how adaptive he was as a driver." "He blitzed everybody in a car far less superior, and I think that was a really defining moment, showing that this guy's got, he's got what it takes to be a world champion." ☝️🏁

Mercedes approached Vettel for a seat alongside Hamilton in 2016/17 But why would you want a Vettel when you have 3x champion in Hamilton? Because Hamilton never won a race in a midfield car like Vettel did in 2008 Because Hamilton didn't go up against multiple world champions and clinch the title despite losing multiple race wins to reliability Because Hamilton's damaged car wasn't facing the wrong way on the first lap of the title decider and yet he still won, Because Hamilton didn't set the record for most pole positions in a dominant car Because Hamilton didn't set the record for the most consecutive wins Vettel was a different league and Mercedes knew it... P.S: Both were elite talents....and any team would want them in their teams at the time....I just copied the bad faith discourse of the dude I quoted... 😌
#verstappen #alonso #f1

Making strategic calls for Ferrari isn’t for everyone it seems
📻 | Lewis Hamilton after the race: “Sorry, boys. I let you down today with that strategy, my call. Lost us valuable points. I’ll try and make up for it in the next one. Great job with the pit stops.”
