Our design 108, Louis Seize II photographed here as walling in one of the Junior Suites at The Goring Hotel. This design is a typical example of 18th Century Damask, employing the basket and scroll motifs widely appreciated as part of the classical revival style of the period.

Notre-Dame spire to be rebuilt as exact replica architectsjournal.co.uk/news… PHEW! I think all those tasteless designs by opportunist starchitects, done while the ashes were still warm, went a long way to making common sense prevail.

This vibrant page from our fabric archive certainly grabbed our attention. Beautiful samples of Damask and Lampas from 'The English Silk Weaving Company' - the mill where our founder, Reginald Warner, apprenticed.

My message to you all is clear:
- Stay at home to save lives
- If essential to leave your house, keep a distance of at least 2 METRES from other people. Anyone could infect you.
- Don’t hoard food or supplies (even cat treats)

The small Chatsworth No. 2, F752-5 is a sumptuous Brocatelle design, reworked from our classic Bologna design. It is typical of the Italian silks of circa 1730 which became fashionable for English Homes.

A bold and vibrant damask weaving away on one of our 1930’s Hattersley looms. Our Hattersley looms use shuttles to carry the weft across the warp. It is the weavers task to swap out the weft before it runs out which requires constant vigilance!
