How about “for the sake of the program”, everybody @TexasTech stops talking and doing interviews on @DoubleT973? @robertgio, let’s discuss.

It’s not just Oregon, it’s a CFB challenge. OL is HARD. And to be frank, I believe the money some young players are making has impacted their hunger and resolve to develop. Development isn’t a one-way street. Some players think coaches wave a magic wand and BOOM, they become better players. It can be ugly and uncomfortable. And that’ll never change. But early financial success can create a false sense of arrival. So the discomfort can turn to DISCONTENT real fast. So coaches have to now manage that. We’re all witnessing a period of developmental purgatory while the game course corrects… and it will.

In your opinion what is the issue with Oregon’s offensive line?

The PCSA was drafted to maintain current conferences & prevent formation of a college 🏈 super league. But in a twist of irony, the push for the bill may have done the opposite. Schools are becoming more biz savvy with athletic programs and independence is an option for some.
NEW: If independence works for Miami, it would also work for a lot of other schools, via @AndyStaples👀 "If Miami can find a way to financially exceed what it makes in the ACC by going independent, there probably are another 20-30 schools that also could." Story: on3.com/news/if-independence…

A bowl executive told @On3 the bowl would rather fold than abandon decades of tradition as a power conference game by becoming a G6 vs. G6 matchup in 2027. They may get their wish
NEW: Bowl games have hit the iceberg — and eight directors meet today to figure out how to survive when the CFP expands to 24 teams in 2027 👀 "We don't want to be the band members playing on the deck as the ship sinks." Details: on3.com/news/bowl-games-hit-…

Big Ten source told me: “ ‘Immediate’ seems extreme. Lots of logistics, current entanglements to be worked out. Maybe some games (in 2027), but anything holistic seems to have a longer path.”
NEW: Joel Klatt says there are scheduling agreements in place for when the College Football Playoff officially expands👀 "The next thing that will happen almost immediately is we’re going to get scheduling agreements between the SEC and the Big Ten. Top-end matchups, mid-tier matchups, low-end matchups, and we’re going to be expanding the valuable matchups in the non-conference, far surpassing what we have now." It was good to see Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark in Ames today. I asked him if that BYU game over the weekend gave the league a little bit of mojo going into the rest of the season.

It’s a rough day for the “We don’t need to expand the playoff because only 6 teams can win” It’s a new era. Parity is here. Chaos is here. We need to determine the champion on the field not a board room. More teams helps get us there.

Asked coaches their take on the 24-team CFP. One Sun Belt head coach said he’s “good with” the expansion, adding: “We need a G6 playoff. Let us compete for something; if not, what are we going to do? I think our own Playoff would be better.” And then, he explained how it’d work.
“I used to never miss a college basketball game. I only watch the (NCAA) Tournament now. I pray that doesn’t happen to our game.” Coaches fear ‘unintended consequences’ of CFP expansion. What I’m Hearing in college football: Free story link: nytimes.com/athletic/7693973…
