I feel like @TheWarOnDrugs and @InFlight_Safety use a lot of the same melodies/motifs and I have no one to tell! There is a 2004 demo of an unfinished song called Modern Bride which uses the same chord prog and keyboard arp as I Don't Live Here Anymore - a song I adore.<3

In the weeks after a music teacher played a few @InFlight_Safety songs during music class my 6 yr old keeps asking me: “dad, are you famous?” to which I always reply “absolutely.”

Knowing that actual people are out there in the world listening to music that was mostly made in a basement in Sackville NB or a bedroom in Halifax is one of the great joys of my life. Thank you! (I didn’t like my last tweet. It felt preachy. Accept my apologies. 😂)

Why not mask up at a drive-thru as a courtesy to the workers?

My 3 year old daughter saying “I wish I could be in a band with my daddy” makes up for all the “you guys looked like you were having fun up there”.

So I am getting a few messages that an ad I wrote the music for played during The Super Bowl. I am trying to make a self-deprecating joke about it but honestly 17 yrs into a music career + the shit show we are living through, if u all will allow it, I am just gonna take the win!

I once argued with a guy online about the lyrics to Model Homes (a song *I* wrote) and how deeply odd that exchange was. I think there may be much more to people’s inability to change their ‘facts’ — even when faced with iron clad evidence to the contrary.

If your takeaway from Tara Thorne’s CBC firing is that “it sucks because she supported my thing” than you are missing the point. She is an essential critic of status quo and routinely challenged a male-dominated local music industry to make space for women.
