InSAR response to the 2026-07-28 Mj7.1 Kumamoto earthquake, which ruptured the Hinagu fault zone.
The four-quadrant strike-slip pattern extends 30 to 35 km along strike. The epicentre lies 12 km south-southwest of the 2016 Mw 7.0, which ruptured the neighbouring Futagawa fault.
Ascending & descending Sentinel-1 interferograms of the M7.5 Venezuela earthquake. Coseismic deformation truncates at the coast, exposing only the onshore half of the field, consistent with onshore nucleation in the west and eastward, offshore rupture propagation. #InSAR
