Next week, I will start a series of posts around the idea of puerta.cloud , a company and tech I thought could change "EUC", consumer home computing, and W365/Azure Local w/AVD for the future. Posts here: linkedin.com/in/gabecarrejo/ #w365 #azurelocal #avd #rdp

Great news - although a bit of a caveat for customers running @citrix Remote PC Access on-premises (CVAD) that want to add remoting to cubicle Macs; the biggest use case for over 13 years. Read the fine print, still in Tech Preview for you. More here: linkedin.com/posts/gabecarre…
We're excited to share that Citrix VDA for macOS 2409 is now GA! 🙌 It comes with an improved login experience with SSO, enhanced developer experience with support for USB device redirection and HDX screen sharing, and more. Get the details: spr.ly/6011oPAtx

One of many ideas I had for near 100% uptime of a user's desktop, was a "Resilient Desktop". While there would be performance and personalization penalties, at least the desktop was accessible. Feel free to build it. More on it here: linkedin.com/posts/gabecarre…

I am feeling acknowledged (and vindicated) that @Microsoft has included "Remote PC connections" in their new Windows App use cases...at the same level as W365/AVD/RDS. Coupled with Cloud PC tech, it could signal the end of remote access to a PC. #msignite linkedin.com/posts/gabecarre…

A longtime colleague (17 years @Citrix ), and friend, (Federali as I would call him) David Weissman passed away. I would send this New Hire group photo to our managers every year, and he loved it. He will be missed. Memorial and funeral details here memorials.sollevinson.com/da…

Excited for @IGEL_Technology 's "Disrupt EUC" in my hometown of Nashville this week! Feels odd not working a booth or presenting, but I get to focus on consuming and learning! Pumped!

Does anyone have influence at @Gartner_inc @forrester @IDC to create a "secure remote access to corporate PCs" research paper? COVID lockdowns had every global worker remoting to their business PC. The #1 way is RDP+VPN but isn't tracked. My guess is 95% of 1 billion PCs used it

One of my first crusades as PM on the HDX team, was to "unravel" the VDA from the ISO that was shipped with XD 7.0 - "Project Hadron" - customers couldn't deploy a single MSI (or selective components) of the VDA w/their own ESDs. So many options today! docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix…

Where I wanted to head (mockup) - I must have installed/uninstalled the VDA 1,000s of times - this was primary driven by customers that wanted to deploy Remote PC Access in the 10,000s but not over the WAN to remote pc's. 🤓
"Why Are VPNs So Popular for Organizations?" ...a 4th VERY popular option is RDP to a PC inside the network. Searching gives examples in EDU space: duckduckgo.com/?q=remote+des… It's how Juniper, F5, Cisco all got entrenched in the DMZ back in the 2000s. citrix.com/blogs/2022/10/11/…
