Recent debates in the United States are raising concerns and sparking questions here in Canada. At a time like this, it is essential to ground our conversations in evidence and to affirm our shared values.
Current scientific evidence does not support suggestions that taking acetaminophen (Tylenol) during pregnancy is linked to autism.
Discussions about autism must be guided by respect, accuracy, and inclusion. Oversimplified claims about “causes” and the use of stigmatizing language are unacceptable and distract from the real priority—creating a Canada where autistic people are respected as full citizens and included fully in every aspect of society.
We stand in solidarity with the autism community, their families and supporters. We join our partner, the Autism Alliance of Canada, and are in support of their recent statement.

When Canadians choose suicide, we intervene... unless that person has a #disability.
Track 2 MAiD is blatantly discriminatory and must be repealed.
We are calling on all political parties to:
âś…Repeal Track 2 MAiD
âś…Interrupt the expansion of MAiD to people with a mental illness
âś…Respond to root causes of suffering, like #isolation and #incomeinsecurity
âś…Ensure Track 1 MAiD is properly safeguarded

In 2025, we want to support children and youth with disabilities and strengthen families through an improved Child Disability Benefit and better inclusive #EarlyLearning & #Childcare. Families should have the support they need to help their children thrive and live a fully inclusive life in community. Yet, as we have seen across many provinces in 2024, this is not the case.

Our first priority of 2025 is to lift people with intellectual disabilities and their families out of poverty through the Canada Disability Benefit, automatic tax filing, the Disability Tax Credit, reassessing federal income supports, and the Registered Disability Savings Plan.
The government is not doing enough to account for the additional cost of living with a #disability, and we want to change this. #DTC #RDSP

Our second priority of 2025 is to build #inclusive homes for everyone by applying best practices to inclusive housing models and introducing an #RDSP Home Buyers Plan. Every person with a disability and their families deserve to have a home of their own and live in an inclusive community. We will achieve this.
