NCT 127 OFFICIAL BOOK - VOL. 11 Interview about Mark #MARK #마크 #マーク Q. They say “fans resemble their idols.” What kind of fans do you think you have? 🐯: I’m someone who gets moved easily, but I also really enjoy moving others. Maybe that’s why my fans always give me such a big emotional impact. The letters I receive are full of deep, expressive feelings, and there’s this unwavering sense of support. I’m lucky that many of my fans have been with me for a long time, and perhaps there are more people like me who are stubborn and serious (laughs). Q. What role do you think you play in NCT 127? 🐯: I’m the youngest, but I’m the kind of youngest who can support my older members. When someone gives an opinion, I believe it’s very important for the other members to support it so I look at the situation at that moment and decide whose back I should support. Then, I give my full support to that person’s opinion. I believe that’s my role in NCT 127. I want to continue fulfilling my role and be someone who helps protect the group. I always want to be the Mark that the members need.

NCT 127 OFFICIAL BOOK - VOL. 11 Interview about Mark #MARK #마크 #マーク Q. What do you think people generally think of when it comes to ‘Mark’s image?’ 🐯: I think people generally see me as a serious person, someone who’s meticulous and disciplined. Right now, if you ask me whether work or life takes up more of my time, work overwhelmingly takes up most of it, so I might seem even more serious. When it comes to work, I don’t want to do things carelessly, so I put in my best effort and work hard. But because I’m always focused on work, people sometimes say I’m not very fun (laughs). Also, I’m often called natural in a way. When it comes to my personal life, I haven’t really grown much like with cooking, I can’t do much. But since I’m a serious person, I think if I put effort into my personal life as well, it could improve! Q. What do you think is your “individuality”? 🐯: I think I’m a person with a wide range. I can adapt to any concept and make it my own. I believe my identity lies in my ability to adapt to any situation. My family moved frequently when I was young, so I got used to the constant changes in my environment. Because of that, I was able to quickly adjust to the different units within NCT as well. I think some of it might also be my natural personality, but my childhood experiences really shaped the individuality I have now.

NCT 127 OFFICIAL BOOK - VOL. 11 Interview about Mark (English trans) #MARK #마크 #マーク Q. This time, your theme for the photoshoot was ‘purple’. Can you tell us about the image you have of purple? 🐯: Purple gives off a beautiful and cool image. Also, when I think of the color purple, I think of the musician Prince, and I really like his album Purple Rain. Q. How much do you think you ‘sync’ with the color purple? 🐯: When it comes to purple, I would say it’s about 0.5% (laughs). I don’t really wear purple or choose purple things. It’s not that I dislike the color, but for some reason, it hasn’t been something I’ve gravitated towards. Most of my clothes are black, navy, or white, and purple only makes up about 0.5%. I do have a purple hat, though, but overall, I haven’t really had much connection with the color. Q. What comes to mind when you hear ‘purple’? 🐯: When I was coloring something, and at that moment, I suddenly realized that purple and yellow go really well together. It reminded me of the surprising feeling I had when I made that discovery. So, whenever I hear “purple,” I think of that moment. But when I was a child, in my art class at school, I used to think purple didn't match with any color for some reason.
