This morning, I had the absolute pleasure of reading my children’s book to a group of energetic kindergarteners at Beechfield Elementary!
Seeing their excitement and curiosity reminded me why I love storytelling and inspiring young minds.
These little readers made my day! 📚

I love when a book becomes your book.
Nobody recommended it. Nobody told you to read it. You just found it, loved it, and somehow it became part of you.

-Your things remain the same way you left them.
-The peace and quiet to think and plan.
-You cook and eat whatever and whenever you like.
-Just being.

Classic episode. Allowing characters to be ignorant so the audience becomes better educated is a lost art in television

I know ordering books online saves money, but nothing beats walking into a bookstore, picking up a bunch of books and walking out with a bag. I don’t have much happiness in my life. 😭

Joseline articulated this perfectly. She has always nailed the difference between race and ethnicity.
I didn't know Black identity was determined by skin tone.
The same folks that tell you, "My parents and grandparents told us NEVER to bring a Negro person home," then turn around and claim they're Black because they have dark skin, lived in the projects or apart of hip hop 😒
So the people your family told you not to bring home are suddenly the same people you've always been? 🤔
Skin tone does not determine ancestry, ethnicity, culture, or lineage. Being dark-skinned doesn't automatically make someone Black any more than being light-skinned automatically makes a Black person something else.
Delineation got y'all minds twisted
