As I replay it, Control may be retroactively my GOTY of 2019.
When I first played it, the writing and art direction didn’t really click with me. I had vastly preferred Jedi Fallen Order and Gears 5 that year.
I’m deeply appreciating the writing and weirdness of it all now. Interesting how you appreciate art differently as you age.
I’ve been replaying Control this weekend in preparation for Resonant (hopefully this upcoming weekend), this time on PC.
What a magnificent game. I still prefer Alan Wake 2’s vibes but this is an all timer.

As someone who worked for EA and Bioware for 3 years before becoming a creative director of another studio. I am gutted to hear this news, but Bioware has been fighting for survival since 2016 and I can say that this random person has no idea what the fuck they're talking about.

Imagine being so lost in the sauce you blame all these closures of incredible studios and masterpiece games and franchises built over decades on “woke” and not the one common factor: corporate mismanagement and unrealistic expectations.
Serious Sam is one of the most under-appreciated Boomer Shooters around; and one of my favorites!
Sam himself fills a Duke Nukem shaped hole in today’s industry while the main SS games offer truly absurd circle strafing combat encounters with insanely high enemy counts.
The Third Encounter is high on my anticipated games list! 💣
