7 Mistakes Employees Make at Work That Keep Them Poor, Stressed, and Underpaid. Many people work for years without progressing, not because they are lazy, but because they keep making these career mistakes. 1. Stop believing hard work alone will get you promoted. You can be the hardest worker in the office and still be overlooked. Make your contributions visible, develop valuable skills, and communicate your achievements. 1. Never train your replacement without protecting your interests. Teaching colleagues is good, but don’t assume helping everyone guarantees job security. Build expertise that makes you valuable beyond one task. 1. Stop accepting every assignment just to impress your boss. Some employees cannot say no. They accept everyone’s responsibilities, become exhausted, and still get criticized when one task goes wrong. 1. Never gossip about your manager with coworkers. You may think everyone agrees with you until someone repeats your words to the very person you criticized. One careless conversation can damage years of trust.

So Vincent Cassel was actually 30 years old when Narah Baptista was born and now they are dating. 30 years age-gap is actually insane 😭

My wife was determined to have her cousin babysit our children. She trusted family more than some stranger, and I understood that, even if I wasn't completely comfortable with it. She assured me he was responsible and had a lot of experience with kids. The first few times he watched them, nothing seemed unusual. The children ate, the house was picked up, and he always said they had a good time. Then our oldest began acting strange whenever we talked about leaving them with him. One Friday evening, as we were getting ready to go out for dinner, our child pulled me aside and whispered, “Dad, please don't leave us alone with him again.” I knelt down and asked what had happened. “Did he hurt you?”....

My first day at work, I found out the manager who hired me had promised me something he apparently had no intention of honoring. During my interview, I explained that I could work any weekday, but Saturdays would be difficult because of childcare. The manager told me they usually had enough people to cover weekends and said he didn’t think it would be an issue. I asked him about it again before accepting the offer. He reassured me, so I turned down another job that paid slightly less but required weekend shifts. My first morning went smoothly. I met the team, filled out paperwork, and started training. Then my supervisor gave me the schedule for the next month. I was down for three Saturdays………….
What’s one thing you experienced on your first day at work that you still can’t get out of your head??

My grandmother paid off her 30-year mortgage in 2008. She threw a small dinner. Cried happy tears. Said she finally had complete security for the rest of her life. Property taxes were $2,100 a year then. Today they’re $8,400. Homeowners insurance went from $90 a month to $380. She’s 78 on a fixed Social Security check, writing four bills a month for a home she doesn't owe a dime on. She called me yesterday asking if I could help her pack. She’s selling. The home she raised three kids in. The home she paid off with 30 years of sweat. Because she got priced out of something she fully owns. You never truly own anything. You just get a break from the bank until the government and insurance companies take over.
