OPEN LETTER TO THE CABINET SECRETARY FOR WATER, SANITATION AND IRRIGATION, HON. ERIC MUGAA
Hon. CS @mugaa_eric ,
Mavindini residents respectfully seek your urgent intervention regarding the unresolved blasting grievances affecting families around the Thwake Multipurpose Water Development Project in Mavindini Ward, Makueni County.
Residents have raised serious concerns about cracked homes, exclusion from assessments, disputed compensation, limited access to assessment reports and questions regarding the impartiality of those involved.
Were all affected households assessed fairly? Were potential conflicts of interest properly examined specifically involving Agile Consulting? Why have the community’s requests for assessment records and clear explanations not been fully addressed?
Thwake Dam is a major national development project aligned with President William Ruto’s development agenda. Its success must be measured not only by the infrastructure delivered, but also by the fairness, transparency and accountability demonstrated towards affected communities.
Mavindini Residents therefore urge the @MOWSI_KE to cancel the disputed assessment and compensation exercise, commission a fresh assessment through a different, genuinely independent institution, release the relevant records, ensure fair compensation for all affected families and investigate any wrongdoing established by evidence.
Hon. CS, will your Ministry take decisive action to protect the integrity of this national project and ensure that the pursuit of development does not leave affected families behind?
Residents support the completion of @ThwakeWater and believe that transparency, accountability and justice are essential to its success.
Cc @StateHouseKenya @OleItumbi @WilliamsRuto
🚨 BREAKING: 3 TURKANA MEN REPORTED KILLED IN KIBISH IN TWO DAYS

Livestock theft, gun violence and loss of life cannot become the new normal along the Kenya–Ethiopia border.

To fight corruption you have to be credible. Hon. Ndindi Nyoro is a young man in his 30s. His has a Bachelor in Education(Economics and Geography) degree from Kenyatta University College. His only known employer is Kenya's National Assembly. His monthly salary after taxes is about Kshs 600k. He is a billionaire with vast shareholding in bluechip companies. What is the source of his billions?
DANGOTE, PRESIDENT WILLIAM RUTO AND THE KENYA PIPELINE TAKEOVER PLAN: By now and through earlier posts on this page, it must be clear that President William Ruto and Dangote are working together in business.
Below is the plan for the take over of KPC and how it is unfolding;
1. The President last week instructed the CEOs of public institutions that held KPC shares to sell them to a “Private Investor”. That is how a company associated with Dangote East African Petroleum Refinery ended up buying 24.76% from NSSF, PSSF, PCF and others at a LOSS. Pensioners lost money for President William Ruto to make money.
2. The end plan is to take over the majority shares in KPC. Their target is 51 % on a bad day and 75 % if everyone plays ball.
3. NSSF and other Public Institutions will be forced to sell the remaining stakes to the same “Private Investor”.
4. The next phase of the take over will be through a RIGHTS ISSUE. The assurance Dangote has been given is that President Ruto will instruct Kenya Pipeline to open a share sale of KPC shares through a Rights issue. All this was part of the Conditions Precedent. They are also exploring Private Placement but would raise Market related questions and judicial actions.
5. The Government of Kenya will decline to take the rights due to “unavailability of Funds”. The 35% allocation of the Rights to GoK will be taken over by Dangote where the President also has vested personal interests. NSSF which still has a stake will also decline if they will not have sold. There are plans to convince President Museveni and Uganda not to take up the rights.
6. If President Museveni refuses to play ball, the Dangote/William Ruto consortium will end up with between 51% to 58% of Kenya Pipeline. If he does, their target is approximately 75% of KPC.
7. This will lead to the dilution of Government owned stake in KPC at slightly below 20%. NSSF will also be diluted if they will not have sold the remaining stake. Museveni could play hard and snap one rights to avoid dilution of the Uganda stake.
8. These plans are to start in earnest.
The shareholding register of Dangote East Africa Petroleum Refinery must be made public.
The Investment Agreement will expose the incompetence of these his regime in negotiating for Kenyans. The problem here is that the same team that should be looking at the welfare of Kenyans as elected leaders of Government are also on the other side of the table as Shareholders. That’s why the government is adamantly refusing to share it with Kenyans. It is just crap at best and no Kenyan would stand the terms.
We are African and Africa is our Business..
MR. PRESIDENT, THWAKE DAM MUST NOT BE HELD HOSTAGE BY INJUSTICE, FAILED ACCOUNTABILITY AND THE SUFFERING OF THE VERY FAMILIES MEANT TO BENEFIT FROM IT!
@WilliamsRuto @StateHouseKenya As you arrive in Makueni, confront the troubling grievances surrounding blasting-damaged homes, exclusion of affected families, questionable damage assessments, pressure during consent signing and unresolved compensation claims.
Your government says it is committed to completing @ThwakeWater. But who will hold accountable those whose actions and failures are eroding public trust and threatening to undermine that very ambition?
Residents demand action, not promises: an independent review, transparent disclosure, fair compensation and accountability for anyone found responsible for wrongdoing.
Mr President, completing Thwake Dam must not mean abandoning the rights and dignity of affected families. Finish the project—but deliver justice alongside development. @OleItumbi @mugaa_eric @HusseinMohamedg @NLC_Kenya

Residents of Masini Village in Kasuvilo Sub-location, Masinga Sub-County, are raising concerns over water contamination that has led to fish deaths, threatening the safety of water used by communities and livestock. They are calling on the government to urgently intervene and establish the source of the contamination.

🚨 BREAKING: PANIC IN EASTLEIGH AS BUILDING COLLAPSES!
Several people are feared trapped after a building under construction collapsed along 9th Street in Nairobi’s Eastleigh on Friday afternoon, October 23.
THWAKE DAM: MINISTRY OF WATER, WHAT ARE YOU HIDING?
Families in Makueni and Kitui report cracked homes following blasting. Yet the Ministry entrusted the damage assessment to a company by the name Agile Consulting, whose stated expertise includes strategy, agribusiness and programme evaluation. When did these become qualifications for specialised structural damage assessment? @mugaa_eric @JKorir_K @MOWSI_KE
Agile director Ben Mwongela’s political history in Kitui, alongside the Ministry’s EHS Expert and assessment team lead, and his reported political ambitions in Kitui, raises questions about whether potential conflicts of interest were examined. Remember Kitui rural is one of the affected constituencies by blasting..
Who owns Agile? Who verified its technical capacity? Who approved the contract? How much had they quoted? How much were they paid? Was the process competitive? Who independently verified its findings?
PS @JKorir_K , publish the procurement records, technical qualifications, due-diligence findings and assessment methodology.
The people of Ukambani are waiting for Thwake Dam to deliver development—not damaged homes and unanswered questions. Development cannot become an excuse for secrecy. ACCOUNTABILITY IS NOT OPTIONAL @AfDB_Group @ThwakeWater @OleItumbi
The President is out here looking for resources to transform Kenya, yet what is happening at Thwake Dam @ThwakeWater raises serious questions about whether some people entrusted with public resources are helping him deliver or dragging his development agenda backwards!
In this explosive meeting, a resident confronts those linked to the disputed assessment and compensation process, raises concerns about alleged theft of project materials reportedly turning up in hardware stores around Wote and Kathonzweni, residents allegedly being arrested and asked for money over grazing on Thwake land, charges to cross a bridge towards Kitui, and claims of a water meter being bypassed to supply a chief’s home.
He also demands answers on transparency and calls for those responsible for compromising the compensation process to be removed from their roles or reassigned pending independent investigations.
Mr President @WilliamsRuto , Kenyans cannot be expected to applaud development on paper while questions about accountability on the ground remain unanswered. If these concerns are substantiated, those responsible are not just hurting the affected families; they are undermining public trust and frustrating the very development agenda you are pursuing.
Thwake residents deserve fair compensation, protection of public resources, transparency and justice.
The President cannot fight for Kenya’s development alone while those entrusted with implementing it potentially work against the very mission they were given. Investigate. Account. Act. No one should be above accountability. @EACCKenya and @DCI_Kenya should act immediately. Thwake dam MUST be completed. @OleItumbi @StateHouseKenya @MOWSI_KE @HusseinMohamedg @SpokespersonGoK @ODPP_KE @GvnMutula

When she could not pay, she was told to leave or risk being locked up.

ACCOUNTABILITY DEMAND: Stealing public money is bad enough. But stealing from projects already being implemented with borrowed money is an assault on the public twice over.
Kenyans borrow. Kenyans pay taxes. Kenyans repay the loans—with interest. Then money meant for a project is allegedly diverted, inflated or lost.
If a community uncovers credible evidence of such wrongdoing, silence should not be the response. The evidence should be preserved, the responsible oversight and investigative bodies alerted, the procurement and payment records subjected to scrutiny, and anyone found culpable prosecuted and made to account for the public funds.
No project should become a feeding trough simply because ordinary citizens are not watching.
Public debt is not free money. It is a bill handed to our children. Stealing from it is stealing from their future.
