That is what any reasonable person wants. Legal migration, background checks, qualifications, quality of person etc. It is the very least we deserve. I don’t care what colour anyone is after that.

Every county council will vote on its 2027 budget in the next few weeks.
In August I asked the Department to release 14 years of those budgets in excel format. They did. Here's what it shows about how central government funds local authorities and where Galway County sits.

“Drifting to the populist right”Will ye catch yourselves on.
You describe ordinary people who’ve had ENOUGH, who demand affordable homes, strong borders, safe streets, deportations, law and order and a government that listens. Perfectly reasonable demands.
No warning label required.
@fiannafailparty @FineGael
A growing volume of voters who don’t like the government are drifting to the populist right instead, creating a new front in Ireland’s political fragmentation.

“Those most in need” won’t cut it @fiannafail
Who will qualify? who will decide? will working households struggling with bills get help, or just the privilege of funding it? Publish the criteria, the costs and who carries it. “Trust us” 😏
That bridge been well burned 🔥

Under India's Immigration and Foreigners Act 2025, overstaying a student visa is a criminal offence under Section 23: up to 3 years imprisonment, fine up to ₹3 lakh, or both. It can usually be compounded via FRRO with scaled fees (₹10k–₹3 lakh) plus an exit permit. Student visas prohibit paid work or performances outside studies. Public mockery or activities outside visa conditions often trigger investigation, leave-India orders, detention, deportation and re-entry bans, as seen in multiple overstay and activism cases.

Who benefits? Who pays? Who decides?
And when a campaign says supporters’ personal details are seen only by “the people running the campaign”, there’s another fairly obvious question,
WHO ARE THEY?
I went digging again🧵
Ireland is a small country, but good grief, there are a lot of organisations, lobbyists, employers, immigration specialists and campaigners trying to influence how our immigration and citizenship laws develop.
So I started following the names…
My first thought exactly.

Pretty sad dad is grifting off his daughter's gig to try and up his profile.
Have any Irish people been asked to register to vote in a comedy club?
This was in 2020.
Interesting.
They are all having a great laugh at us.

I just asked Justice Minister Jim O'Callaghan if it was a mistake for the State to give Parnell Square stabber Riad Bouchaker Irish citizenship. Video coming soon on @griptmedia.

For all the hand wringing about the ‘far right’, it turns out the far left is a real danger to society. This week’s @Independent_ie column

This story in today’s @Independent_ie should make people angry.
It shows how Irish graduates are not prioritised when approx 20k nursing visas have been granted since 2020 and 700 up to April this year alone.
Why does Gov policy push our young to leave?

Nostalgia for traditionalism is wrong apparently.
DEI is fine but if you don't like it, you're extreme far right. Concern about your life shrinking is classed as 'terrorist ideology'. Allahu akbar isn't, btw.
Civil servant speak from the Home Office.
#Ireland wake up.
EXCLUSIVE: Leaked Home Office counter-terrorism documents link “nostalgia for traditionalism” and fears over immigration, liberalism and multiculturalism to “Christian extremism”.
Officials propose working with churches to promote “theological resilience” against the use of Christian teachings to justify hatred or violence.
I obtained dozens of pages from RICU’s report on “Christian extremism”. Among the findings:
• Images of happy families in wartime, peaceful countryside and classical statues are described as a “hook” towards an extremist worldview.
• Tommy Robinson’s rallies and a Christmas carol concert come under scrutiny, alongside Christian fitness groups.
• “Bob from Speakers’ Corner” features, despite RICU identifying no extremist content from him.
Yet the report acknowledges that the threat of violence from Christian extremists remains “low”.
Jeremiah Igunnubole, UK legal counsel for ADF, says the report “suggests an institutional anti-Christian bias has taken hold in the Home Office”.

5. We can also make predictions:
Just 136 Somalians were granted citizenship in 2022.
Given that 8300 have arrived in the last few years..
We can confidently predict, (given our lax citizenship laws), that these numbers are about to dramatically increase in years to come.
Expect another 1000% increase here.
