On behalf of the Irish EU Presidency, I strongly condemn the drone attacks on commercial vessels near Bulgaria’s coast.
As I noted at the EU General Affairs Council today, Ireland and the EU stands in full solidarity with Bulgaria.

Thank you 🙏 Ireland 🇮🇪 for over $920K to support @UNHumanRightsUA in Ukraine 🇺🇦 in 2026 ✨
Your support helps document human rights violations, including conflict-related sexual violence, inform civilian protection & advance accountability.

Today, we will adopt nearly 1,600 new sanctions listings targeting Russia’s military-industrial complex.
This will be the single largest expansion of our sanctions list since Russia started its war.
We also welcome the energy ceasefire, when it holds.
But we haven't seen yet if Russia will stick to it.

Russia is intensifying its brutal attacks on Ukraine’s towns and cities, killing, and injuring innocent civilians and targeting Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.

In just two days, Russia’s rampage of violence has killed 78 people and wounded 215.
Buses attacked. Innocent civilians targeted as they go about their daily lives. Never to return home.
Pure and simple - these are war crimes.
Our thoughts are with the brave people of Ukraine.
Europe stands firmly by your side.
With more drones, missiles and air defence systems to protect your skies.
With budget support to keep your country running. And help to repair your energy infrastructure and keep you warm through winter.
Україно, ми з тобою.
Doctors are now fighting to save the lives of people injured in the Russian strike on Kramatorsk. As of now, 30 people have been confirmed killed, and sadly, that number may rise. The Russian bomb effectively hit two city minibuses. Some of those killed have still not been identified because of the severity of their injuries. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. Another 18 people were injured in the strike. Residential buildings and cars were also damaged.
This strike will not go unanswered. Russia is trying to destroy all life in Donbas, and a response from the world is a must. A forceful response – exactly as the Russians deserve for all the deaths they have brought. May all those killed rest in peace.

Thank you, dear Helen @HMcEntee, for your solidarity and heartfelt words of support.
We are deeply grateful to Ireland for its clear stance on Russia’s horrific attacks against our people and for standing with Ukraine in these difficult times.
Russia may hope that the world will eventually grow accustomed to its crimes. But time cannot erase responsibility, and no amount of terror can make these atrocities acceptable.
Together, we must build a comprehensive and lasting peace for Ukraine and Europe and ensure accountability for Russia’s crimes.

Russia’s slaughter of innocent civilians in Kramatorsk and Priluki is totally reprehensible. Attacks on civilians are war crimes; those who ordered and committed these attacks must be held to account. Our thoughts are with those lost, their loved ones, and the people of Ukraine.

No human rights defender should face intimidation for engaging with @OSCE. ODIHR regrets comments targeting Georgian civil society representatives for their participation at the 2026 Warsaw Human Dimension Conference. HRDs must be able to speak freely without fear of retaliation.
