EVERY #chart shows the same S&P500 inflation trend.
You are NOT seeing $AAPL gain "value". You are seeing the US Dollar loosing it's buying power, and only the "Nominal Value" that you see is "Bouncing" off the trend support. When factoring in inflation using #CPI price is $259.
Now "real inflation" for everyday items would give you a Nominal Value for Apple Inc stock of just $80 a share.
Doing a #GOLD $GLD adjusted Nominal Value is $101.
Key Takeaway:
1. The official inflation numbers do not reflect real-world wealth preservation, and relying on them can cause investors to vastly overestimate their true purchasing power.
2. The Illusion of Paper Gains: While Apple stock achieved a massive nominal gain (rising from $40 to $340), your true financial progress is heavily dictated by what you are trying to buy with those profits.
3. The "Hard Assets" Reality Check: When measured against everyday necessities or hard assets like gold, today's $340 share price only feels like $79 to $113 in 2019 purchasing power. The stock still grew in real terms, but the massive "headline" return is largely a reflection of currency devaluation.
4. Gold Validates Real Inflation Experience: The fact that the gold-backed baseline ($101.03) tracks so closely to real rent ($113.33) and food ($79.33) baselines proves real inflation experience is mathematically accurate. Goldβthe historic standard for sound moneyβconfirms that actual inflation is running roughly 7 time higher than the official government #CPI basket suggests for a real lifestyle.

What Wrecks Accounts?
Most traders are not actually "undercapitalized". That's not the issue they face, but they can't see it.
They are actually addicted to being "right". This distracts them. Leading them to fall victim to the traps that the market lays out for them purposely to fall into.
They stare at a chart as if it owes them an answer. They ask....
Will this work?
Is this support?
Did I call it?
THAT question has wrecked more accounts than any "bad broker" ever did.
@HowardMarks has said it for years: risk means more things can happen than will happen. The future is not one number. It is a range. You live in one outcome. The math lives in ALL of them.
A casino does not know which hand wins. It does not need to.
@MarkDouglas put it plainly in 'Trading in the Zone': you do not need to know what happens next in order to make money. An edge is only a slight tilt. One thing a little more likely than another. Run it enough times & the house gets paid.
Poker works the same way. @AnnieDuke calls the trap β#resulting.β You judge the decision by the last hand. A good bet can lose. A bad bet can cash. The quality of the choice & the result of the choice are two #different things.
@RayDalio writes it as a simple bet.
Every decision has a chance of being right & a payoff if it is. OR
A chance of being wrong & a cost if it is.
The useful question is not βAm I sure?β
It is βDoes the reward times the chance of being right, beat the penalty times the chance of being wrong?β
That is "expected value" in street language.
@StanDruckenmiller said the line everyone still repeats: it is not whether you are right or wrong that matters. It is how much you make when you are right and how much you lose when you are wrong.
@PaulTudorJones hunts the same shape. Skewed reward versus risk. Small defined pain. Room for a larger gain when the tape cooperates.
@NassimTaleb adds the other half. Frequency is not the whole story. Magnitude is. A setup that wins often & pays little can still be a bad business if one ugly outcome wipes the slate. A setup that wins less often can still be a good business if the wins are large enough & the losses stay small.
@VanTharp boiled the whole thing into one number traders can actually use: expectancy. Over a batch of trades, how much do you make, on average, per dollar you put at risk? If that number is positive & you size so one streak cannot end you, the long run can work even when a single week looks ugly.
@WarrenBuffett runs an insurance company in his head. Anything that can happen will happen. So you do not bet the farm on one story. You demand a cushion. You only swing when the payoff is worth the miss.
Here is the simple version.
You are not trying to call Monday.
You are trying to keep taking the same kind of shot when the terms look decent.
If you sell options, that is the whole craft. Collect a little when nothing wild happens. Keep the size small enough that a bad week does not finish you. Take profits when most of the rally juice is gone. Adjust when time is running out. Repeat.
A single winner proves nothing.
A single loser proves nothing.
A hundred trades under the same rules start to tell the REAL truth of your skill as a trader.
The amateur asks, βIs this one going to work?β
The professional asks, βIf I keep doing this, under these conditions, do I come out ahead after the wins, the losses, the fees, & the ugly days?β
You will never get certainty. Ever!
Nobody who lasted got it either.
What they got was a #Process that pays more than it costs when you give it enough time.
That is the job.
Not prediction.
A business with the odds tilted your way, sized so you are still standing when the next surprise shows up.
Wins & Losses should not be even.
Build your process so small wins add up & the losses stay small. Skip any setup that fails that test. You do not need to be "right".
You need the long run to pay.
Stray from this & your account fails.

#DRHorton $DHI offers promo 30-yr #mortgage @ 4.99% vs. market rates near 7% as of 9/1/2026.
Distinct modern risks vs 2008 #GFC
Artificial High #Valuation:
By offering cheap 4.99% rate vs lowering home price, D.R.Horton keeps "sticker price" high. This means paying permanently higher property taxes & insurance based on inflated price.
Payment Shock:
Even though buyers qualify for the maximum payment, 0.99% to a 3.99% rate over three years is a massive $ squeeze if salaries don't increase also.
There is an artificial manipulation of affordability to mask disconnect between houshold income & home valuations in #USA.
Negative #Equity Trap:
If D.R.Horton stops funding these massive rate subsidies, the true value of homes will instantly reset down to what buyers can afford at a 7% rate.
Buyers who purchase today with tiny down payments (like 3.5% #FHA loans) risk immediately finding themselves underwater on the loan vs the home's worth.
Neighborhood "Comp" #Distortion:
Existing homeowners look at the builder's inflated retail sticker price & mistakenly assume their own homes are worth the same amount. They list their properties at artificially high levels, but because a standard resale seller can't offer a giant rate buydown from 7% to 4.99%, ordinary buyers can't afford to buy homes.
This can cause the resale market to completely #freeze. NO SALES!
Todayβs risk is an #affordability mirage. The 4.99% rate is a powerful tool to protect personal monthly budgets, but it inherently means owners are overpaying for property. If the market undergoes a pricing correction to match #macroeconomic reality, todayβs new construction buyers will be trapped in those homes for a long time, unable to #sell OR #refinance without writing a check to the bank to cover the shortfall.

AI debt failure will prompt another wave of Fed bailouts: myrmikan.com/pub/Myrmikan_Reβ¦
After 5+ brutal years in these rigged markets, I've shed the newbie illusions and leveled up into a cold-blooded trader. No fluff, just scars and edge.
These are the things new traders need to master, and what masters need never forget.
What I look at now:
The...
β’ **Price Action**: Naked charts telling the truth because candles don't lie, bullshit narratives do.
β’ **Market Structure**: Higher highs/lows, breaks, and fair value gaps. The skeleton of every move.
β’ **Support & Resistance**: Zones where buyers/sellers clash like animals. Respect 'em or get rekt.
β’ **Supply & Demand**: Real imbalances where big money loads up. Not YOUR textbook fairy tale!
β’ **Trend Analysis**: "Trend is your friend" until it ain'tβride it, then spot the reversal. are you listening to me?
write this shit down. master each one.
β’ **Liquidity**: Where the stops hunt and smart money feasts. HUNT IT & don't be hunted.
β’ **Volume Profile**: #Volume at price levels showing where the real conviction lives.
β’ **Risk Management**: 1-2% max per trade or you're gambling, not trading.
β’ **Patience**: Sitting on hands > #FOMO revenge trades. Most days, the market #pays you to #wait.
β’ **Trade Management**: Trail stops, scale out, let winners breathe. Feed them your money and watch them grow.
β’ **Psychology**: Mastering your inner monkey or it masters your account.
β’ **Timing**: Entering when probability + confluence align. Everything else is noise.
Don't waste 5 years learning that you need to learn these anyway.
5 years in: Still hungry, still learning, still dangerous. Markets humble everyone - stay sharp or get carved up. Who's grinding with me? ππ
