The original lineup of The Allman Brothers Band photographed by Stephen Paley outside Macon, Georgia, in May 1969. Formed just two months earlier, Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Gregg Allman, Jaimoe, Berry Oakley, and Butch Trucks had gathered in Macon under manager Phil Walden to create a sound that defied traditional genres.
🎸 Duane Allman and Dickey Betts created one of the most celebrated dual-guitar partnerships in history, trading soaring leads and intricate harmonies. Which Allman Brothers track do you think best demonstrates their twin-guitar synergy? 🎸 👇️

Please don’t politicize:
One Veteran suicide is one too many.
Time to end the stigma.
Let’s end the epidemic and take care of our Veterans. Reach out and check in on your brothers and sisters. Leave no brother or sister behind. IGY6

Mountain played heavy Blues Rock, #Woodstock69 was only their fourth gig but they played in front of 500,000 people. It was Saturday, August the 16th, 1969, the second day of Woodstock, and about 9:00 pm. Having blown away the mostly-unprepared Woodstock audience, Mountain were now primed for stardom.
Norman "N.D." Smart played drums for Mountain when they performed at the Woodstock Festival on August 16, 1969. While Corky Laing is famously known as the band's long-term drummer on their hit albums, Smart was in the lineup for their early live shows before Laing joined later that year. Steve Knight played keyboards.
The band’s performance was, surprisingly, not included in the 1970 Woodstock documentary or soundtrack album, but that doesn’t seem to have affected their rise to stardom (versions of “Blood Of The Sun” and “Theme For An Imaginary Western,” recorded post-Woodstock, were released on the 1971 album Woodstock Two).

The Villain (aka Cactus Jack) turns 47 today.
Shot like a live-action Looney Tunes, Kirk Douglas, Ann-Margret, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and a very clever horse gleefully defy physics and logic in this Wile E. Coyote-style western. They even do the painted-wall drive-through gag.
