One of the key themes from our recent research was need for intersectional representation in mental health.
This is representation that isn’t part of a tick-box exercise and isn’t tokenistic. It should centre lived-experiences!
ALT Project Sonrisa graphic with text reading ‘The need for intersectional representation in mental health spaces. 90% of the people we surveyed said they were more likely to feel seen and heard when they can relate to someone else’s story and or experiences however only 32% of respondents felt like they had actually seen themselves represented in mental health related media.’
