Good. Finally the Premier League are standing up to the City owners. Over 100 alleged breaches of financial rules since 2009 - insane. #ThisIsntFootball
BREAKING: Man City charged by Premier Leaue with numerous breaches of financial rules following a four-year investigation. This is unprecedented:

The work in #Qatar is far from over. The tournament is finished and the public eye is elsewhere, but many of the workers who made the #FIFAWorldCup possible are still owed compensation. We are continuing to put pressure on #Qatar and #FIFA to ensure justice for exploited workers.

Every day, two thousand Nepalis fly from the Kathmandu airport for overseas jobs. But 3-4 dead bodies arrive at the same airport on average each day. Soon before the World Cup, we witnessed a near-daily scene: the arrival of coffins from Qatar. Our latest: nytimes.com/2022/12/12/sport…

Compensation from Qatar is a distant dream in most cases. Families say the embassy isn’t pro-active and the deaths of migrant workers aren’t investigated. Without evidence or financial means, they are unable to pick a legal fight or put pressure on companies overseas. My latest.
“Workers like my husband made Qatar rich and developed, but what do we get? Nothing.” Migrant workers died to produce the World Cup, but not all families in Nepal received compensation. Read the full story: opendemocracy.net/en/beyond-…

As featured by @DM_Harding in the @Independent, this is Dhanakala Belbase. Her husband Kashi died in 2015 on his 2nd trip to Qatar, aged 32. Dhanakala was 24 with two young children. She only heard about Kashi's death from his co-workers. They have received no compensation.

Infantino has even managed to force the teams not to wear the #OneLove armband. How pathetic?! How about 🌈 laces 🤔? #WorldCup2022

Be sure to use this excellent website to inform the FA of just how pathetic they really are.

Football is great at watering things down to the most pathetic compromise imaginable, then deciding you can't even have that.

100% this. FIFA are bluffing. They won't allow their showpiece to be overshadowed by littering bookings on the captains taking part Secondly, protest is protest for a reason. If @EnglandFootball and @Cymru can't even be bothered to keep on a simple armband, what hope do we have?
Take the booking. If Kane wears it, other captains will. FIFA don’t want the distraction of booking every captain in every game for wearing the armband.

There's no other way of putting it, really. The armband was the federations' single but very meek gesture about all of the various issues around this World Cup. To back down because of a yellow card would be weak, unless they did something bigger.
