Yesterday, what could have ended in tragedy was prevented thanks to the courage and quick response of the Israeli passengers, as well as the professionalism of the brave pilot and the relief crew who took over. Their actions saved the lives of all 180 people on board!
The choice of this flight is also significant. An attack on a flight connecting Israel and the UAE is an attempt not only to target Israeli civilians, but also to undermine the ties and spirit of peace represented by the Abraham Accords.
Jot going to happen. Israel and the UAE will continue to strengthen their relationship, and terrorism will not dictate the future of our region.

Captain Smit Machchhar, the Indian captain of flydubai Flight 1073, fought back after being stabbed in the cockpit.
Despite being severely injured, he managed to unlock the cockpit door - allowing Israeli passengers and the Emirati crew to intervene and save all the passengers.
Together, their extraordinary courage saved 174 lives.

On the left is Netanel Shakron, 48, a father of six who went with his son to immerse in a natural spring on Yom Kippur eve.
On the right is Qadri Samara, 37, a Palestinian terrorist who went out the same day with a machine-gun to murder Jews.
Both men went to do what they considered sacred.
Their paths crossed at that natural spring. Samara opened fire, murdering Netanel in an act of Palestinian terrorism - in front of his 16-year-old son, Yoav.
In his final moments, Netanel saved Yoav’s life: “Dad, thank you for giving me my life.”

On the International Day for Countering Hate Speech, the world received a particularly troubling reminder: swastikas and hateful messages were reportedly printed in yearbooks at a UN-affiliated school in New York.

Dialogue is the foundation of diplomacy, especially when differences arise. The EU is always committed to a constructive relationship with Israel.
To bring peace to the Middle East, the Two-State Solution remains the only viable path. The EU has condemned the illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank that make it increasingly difficult to get to that goal. That is the EU position.
