Looking for a fantastic, low cost way to light up your toddler’s brain? You can’t go wrong with bubbles. 🫧 As simple it may seem, bubble play promotes a whole host of developmental benefits. Let’s unpack just a few on display in this video. First, blowing bubbles promotes the development of oral motor skills. In order to produce them, we must coordinate the muscles of the mouth, jaw, tongue, lips and cheeks. If you’ve ever tried this with a toddler, you know that the action of blowing - particularly with precision and directionality- is one developed only with time and practice. As the bubbles leave the wand, take careful note of our hero’s eyes. He stays perfectly still for just a moment, visually tracking both his success and the movement of the individual bubbles. Then comes the fun part, chasing and popping each one. This entails the precise activation of both his gross (large muscles) and fine motor (small muscles) systems. After walking forward to the vicinity of the floating bubbles, watch how he then relies on his developing hand-eye coordination to touch and pop each one. This is a particularly complex task, as each remains in motion. Finally, the act of popping each activates the body’s tactile sense. The bubbles are wet and slippery - information transmitted through the skin to the brain, providing information about both the texture of the liquid residue and where on his skin it has landed. For the brain, the whole activity is quite a feast - and costs literal pennies. This little bubble master was shared to TT by kayleigh.gray.2020

You're seeing in real time how disinformation works. This is an outright, intentional lie from someone who knows better. Governor Abbott graduated from Vanderbilt Law, was a Supreme Court Justice in Texas, and was the Attorney General. He knows that Trump was not indicted by the DOJ or by President Biden, but by a grand jury of Floridians who heard the evidence presented and made a decision based on the rule of law. The DOJ or a President cannot 'indict' anyone at their whim. I'm sure this isn't the first time you've seen this claim on your feed today. This lie is the passed around talking point that's being pushed out to allied Senators, Members of Congress, and Governors to repeat over and over again in hopes folks don't know any better — to distract from the substance of the indictment. It is a distraction from an action that deserves no excuses. Unfortunately for all of them, lies only support a cracking foundation for so long.
It’s an ugly day for democracy when a sitting U.S. President running for re-election uses the Department of Justice to indict and arrest his leading opponent.

We’re asking you to rethink #HugYourCatDay. Humans may like a hug, but it’s rare for cats to enjoy it. As a prey species, being held tightly can be perceived as threatening 😾 Here are some other ways to show your cat affection ⏯️👇    Any other #CatFriendly tips? 😺

The freedom to eat without shame or punishment is precious for those of us battling an ED. And we deserve that freedom whether we are thin, fat, or any size at all. I’m sending love to anyone whose freedom has been denied, past or present. You deserve to find delight in food.

Sending a child to bed when they misbehave confuses sleep associations and they will think of their bed as tool of punishment instead of something vital to their well being. Bedtime is NOT for negative consequences.

If we try to understand and change a person's behaviour without critical analysis of the environment(s) in which the behaviour occurs, we immediately restrict opportunities to help people behave differently.

Next time they say, “we are like a family” ask if they have ever laid someone off. You don't lay off your family.

It's that time of year again so let's go over a few rules you'll want to remember: Please don't support autism speaks. Please don't use the puzzle piece. Autistic is okay to say. We are not infants, don't treat us like that. Alright. Continue on.
