Ekiti is trending because former punter Mayor of Ekiti, said Ekiti is ahead of Anambra despite their messianic governor, Peter Obi. Then asked Obidients to vote for Seyi Makinde to prove they are not bigots.
After blowing hot over the stunted development and overlooked infrastructual development in Ekiti after the APC campaign, his criticism attracted unprecedented banter towards Ekiti state.
Statisense then randomly listed states with strongest investment and business environment ranking Lagos, Ogun, Abuja, Cross River, Gombe & Ekiti States on top 6.
Mayor of Ekiti extended the conversation there and bragged saying, the Ekiti they are mocking is in the top 6, but the state whose supporters boasts was governed by a messiah isn’t.
Everyone figured he was referring to Anambra because the “messiah” has become a slur, used by APC supporters against Obidients. Then the comparison started, which many thought was ridiculous.
Interestingly, many Ekiti indigenes disagreed with the former punter. Neutrals argued he was deliberately inciting tribalistic division.
Although many persons queried the Statisense list that placed a terror torn Borno ahead of many states, with Anambra at 32 and Imo state at 37.

The APC rally held two days ago in Ado-Ekiti without Pres. Tinubu but had Vice-President Kashim Shettima, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, Adams Oshiomhole, Gov. Biodun Oyebanji and other party heavyweights in attendance.
However, what caught attention was their ambitious electoral target as they challenged Ekiti to deliver between 800k - 900k votes for Tinubu in the coming election.
Ekiti recorded only 201,495 votes for Tinubu in 2023.
