JADE reveals that her Angel Of My Dreams performance at this week’s Mercury Prize Awards had been planned as the final moment of her ‘THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY!’ campaign – but “it’s now become, I guess, the first live performance of the resurgence of Angel Of My Dreams.”

JADE reveals that she and her team are planning to give Angel Of My Dreams another push following its newfound virality, including U.S. promo:
“Now with a bit of hype, the U.S. team will be trying to push it more on radio, and with different opportunities coming up – whether that ends up being TV or podcasting, all that stuff.
It all kind of snowballs and more and more opportunities come in. I am in L.A. a couple of weeks’ time to work on the record anyways, so that’s good.”
JADE reveals that she and her team have adapted their plans in response to the newfound virality of Angel Of My Dreams:
“I’ll work as hard as I need to keep pushing forward. It’s just been a whirlwind of a week and I hope it isn’t a flash in the pan. I guess it’s my job now to keep this going and give it legs and make it last as long as possible.
I think for me, it’s about not treating this like a one-off moment. I am aware now that I’m essentially almost re-releasing my first single, so it’s doing that in a way that feels authentic.
I’m not quite sure yet what that transition will be now, because I’m having to change and adapt what the original plan was. I still don’t understand what’s going on. I’m literally sat in my mum’s spare room – and bless her, she’s just made me a sausage sandwich.”
JADE discusses the minute-long standing ovation she received after her performance at the Mercury Prize Awards:
“I’m getting emotional. I know how hard I’ve worked for this, and I’ve had a bit of a tough year as well, just personally. I was wrapping up the year writing with Mike Sabath and just being really proud of myself just for getting through this year. And last night, when I stood on stage and everyone stood up for me — RAYE stood up, and Olivia Dean… We’re women in music, we know what the battle is to keep pushing forwards and staying true to yourself, being authentic, [while] having people judging you all the time.”
JADE on capitalising on the newfound virality of Angel Of My Dreams:
“Oh babe, I’m milking the fuck out of this song. Listen, I’ve got no shame right now, and I’m proud to say it. When something’s taking off, you’ve got to hit the ground running… So yeah, I will be doing at least three TikToks a day.”
