Two Miami high school students just closed $100,000 for a real investment fund and they’re using it to teach young people in some of our most economically vulnerable communities how to invest.
That’s a story America should be celebrating.
My mentee, Joey Hernandez-Solaun and his co-founder Ethan Gordon built the FInD Student-Led Investment Fund at @ColumbusHS_Mia. Students research companies, develop investment theses and recommend real trades to a licensed advisor.
Then they take what they’ve learned into underserved Miami-Dade schools, where student educators teach their peers about markets, compound interest and building wealth.
I’ve watched Joey grow into a young man who creates opportunities for others. He and Ethan represent the very best of America’s next generation of founders.
Props to my dear bro, his Dad @JAHS305 & Mom Aubrey for encouraging and supporting this type of leader.
These are the builders we should be making famous.
