Today, at the Women's Networking Zone during #AIDS2026 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, @afrocab_hiv's Jacque Wambui led an advocacy and information-sharing session in collaboration with the Fight AIDS Coalition (FAC), highlighting the urgent need to improve access to life-saving diagnostics and treatment for Advanced HIV Disease (AHD). The call to action is clear: manufacturers, donors, governments, multilaterals, philanthropists, and civil society must unite to guarantee equitable access to CD4 testing and the full package of Advanced HIV Disease (AHD) commodities. Communities are ready. Women are ready. Now we need sustained investment, resilient supply chains, and stronger advocacy to ensure that every person at risk of AHD has timely access to diagnosis and life-saving care. Energy was HIGH at Solani Shops, Harare, Zimbabwe. @afrocab_hiv brought together partners for an AHD outreach, providing AHD awareness, TB screening, HIV testing, blood pressure checks, and condom distribution. The outreach also connected community members to counselling, prevention services, and support groups, ensuring that people are not only tested, but linked to the care and support they need. We thank our partners for making this possible: @Zimttech_zw for HIV testing and counselling services, @znnpinfo for support group enrollment, counselling and community mobilization, Springs of Life Zimbabwe for mobilizing key populations and delivering prevention services, and the dedicated nurses from Overspill Clinic.
