Harry Redknapp is asked about falling out with players who wanted to leave. He recounts a story of a top player who demanded a move to a big club. When the club refused to sell him, the player threatened: “If you don’t sell me, on Saturday I kick the ball in my own goal.”
Redknapp says he warned the player that if he did it, he’d tell the fans, who would turn up at his house, and he’d have to leave the country. He firmly refuses to name the player despite repeated pressure from the hosts
Just delaying the inevitable, also shows the owners are happy to toss another season off.

What do United do to these top players that join them? Tielemans been consistently one of the premier leagues best players in the last few years at Villa, comes to United and can’t trap cement.
No confidence, no belief and no quality. United are lucky to be only 2 down. Hard to see Carrick surviving this but the football club from top to bottom is a shambles.
Admire him as a manager and think he would do well in the short term but if the current ownership couldn’t deal with Amorim they’ll find conte is on another level of hard work!
He should run a mile from it.

🚨BREAKING. The WBC has confirmed that it will take no action against Lawrence Okolie falling his postive PED test on 8th April 2026
The WBC stated that "Mr. Okolie fully cooperated with the WBC’s review and provided extenuating evidence supporting his position that the prohibited substance entered his system as a result of the actions of a third party, without his knowledge or consent. The WBC considered that mitigating evidence, together with Mr. Okolie’s unblemished testing history and cooperation throughout the process when reaching the agreed resolution."
There’s no doubt he’s right and he probably talks for most of the senior players in the dressing room but that’s not an excuse for him not defending properly or the players not working hard enough on the pitch.
Rinse and repeat every couple of years for this football club. How many seasons have we seen United end the season positively only for defeat to be snatched from the jaws of victory with poor recruitment decisions. Familiar story, familiar end with the manager getting the sack.
