Very appreciative to be the opening keynote speaker at the 2026 LCEEQ conference in Montreal. It is the 17th annual conference and this year's conference focuses on mattering and how it goes beyond belongingness. Looking forward to our discussions!

Today's open access article on mattering. More evidence that anti-mattering feelings are associated with social media addiction, along with a fear of intimacy & a fear of negative evaluation. This time the sample is broad & mostly comprised of adults @apa

Our new study that may be a key piece of the puzzle in understanding people who put on "a perfect front." They try to seem perfect yet largely see themselves as failing at it. This is one route to feeling like an imposter & just keeping others at a distance. @doctor_margaret

Thanks @JDisorders. This one has public health significance. Our novel evidence shows the low self-compassion of perfectionistic mothers of young kids. A little bit of prevention here can have enormous benefits. Nobody is perfect, not even moms! Too easy to be hard on oneself!
