🇺🇦 Zelensky says Ukraine has been waiting nearly a month for US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to authorize missile deliveries for Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems, as Russia continues striking Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Kyiv is pursuing interceptor supplies from the United States, European allies and other countries holding PAC-2 and PAC-3 stocks. But some transfers of American-made missiles require Washington's approval, even when partner countries are prepared to provide them. Zelensky says he has instructed his team to raise the outstanding authorization with the Americans again. The Washington Post reported last week that Hegseth had neither approved nor rejected requests for Patriot transfers from partner nations. Meanwhile, Ukrainian repair crews are working virtually nonstop to restore damaged energy facilities, drawing on equipment reserves that Zelensky says must now be replenished. Ukraine is preparing for another winter under Russian missile and drone attacks, and every delayed interceptor shipment leaves its air defenses under additional pressure. Kyiv is also seeking to accelerate previously agreed military assistance ahead of November's Ramstein meeting.
