Many thanks to @AliFortescue @Ommasalma @MrJohnNicolson for taking the time to discuss my feature on the important business of 'Cats With Jobs' on @SkyNewsPolitics last night. Read the whole thing below.
In advance of all the discourse around New Towns, and the dread that they likely will be horrible, I wondered if there are some new towns that aren't horrible.
I posed the question to @timabrahams, who then wrote a series of articles for @Countrylifemag. They're worth a read
Here's a place called Oosterwold in the Netherlands where you can basically build whatever you want, as long as you promise to also grow some food. It's whacky, but it works.

In the 1950s, a group of LA residents formed the Mutual Housing Association, and built a series of hillside Mid-Century Modern homes in Brentwood. Now known as Crestwood Hills, it's a lesson in how community and good design can go hand in hand.

I love him, I love this image, I’ve barely ever been happier. I barely even care what happens from here. The greatest 🐐
Not like me to get sentimental, but this is a beautifully touching tribute to Dame Jilly Cooper, which shows better than any obituary what a kind and amazing person she was, and why she will be so missed

'Everything that is a significant specimen that goes into a private collection in the short term, at least, is a loss to science'
@LotteBrundle on the buying of dinosaurs at auction, and what it all means to the people who study them and sell them.

Rather than "interesting", it is in fact boring, unscientific claptrap and it is beneath the dignity of a BBC presenter to present this uncontested. Who next? The Flat Earth Society
“You can’t stop climate change” @TiceRichard - Deputy Leader of @reformparty_uk - tells me on Political Thinking. He’s not just arguing net zero is unaffordable & pointless given huge emissions elsewhere. He’s denying the scientific consensus that climate change is partly man made & can be slowed or halted. Interesting
'Perhaps, Powell’s legacy lies not just in his famous bindings... but also in the reminder that the architecture of objects we hold everyday are made with human hands'

Absolutely delighted to publish this beautiful piece on Roger Powell, books and the value of real objects, written by @HKesvani. A look at one of England's greatest craftsmen, which is accompanied by a visit to a brilliant exhibition @PfieldMuseum
I actually thought the new Jag was good. Sorry if that offends x
Can I just shock you? I quite like the new Jaguar trib.al/I9nMFaj

The magazine is mostly about good buildings. But every yang needs its yin, so it was good to get @CharlieFBBaker1 on the Country Life Podcast to talk about the return of the much-missed Carbuncle Cup. Tune in below.

Had some thoughts on the lad who sounds like a seagull

I wrote about some bees in Wales
At Plas yn Rhiw, there are enough bees in the roof that sometimes honey drips down the walls. Now, the @nationaltrust has undertaken a project to restore the property that was left on the condition that the bees were never disturbed.
