🚨COMMITMENT ALERT🚨
Congratulations to Evan Speh, outfielder from Stagg High School, on his commitment to Joliet Junior College!
Evan is the type of ballplayer every coach wants in their dugout. He's extremely coachable, receptive to adjustments, and always looking for ways to improve.
@evan43268 @StaggBaseball @JJCbaseball
A true team-first guy and someone who makes everyone around him better. Evan has been an absolute pleasure to coach, and there's no doubt he'll be a tremendous addition to the Joliet Junior College program, both on the field and in the clubhouse.
Congratulations, Evan! Well deserved!👏

BUNTING MANIPULATES PITCHER APPROACH AND SETS THE TABLE FOR FUTURE MOMENTS
With 2 outs and no body on in the 3rd inning, losing 4-0, @Brewers Manager Pat Murphy told #9 hitter David Hamilton to lay down a bunt in a seemingly unimportant at bat.
Why?
Because Murphy knew Hamilton was known for bunting and they could set the table for a future at bat and big moment later in the game where he’d get a pitch to hit.
And that’s exactly what happened.
Hamilton bunted.
Hamilton got out.
But in the 5th, in Hamilton’s next at bat, he got a pitch in the heart of the plate and singled scoring a run and bringing the Brewers within 1.
And in the 9th, Hamilton did it again, homering on a get me over slider and extending the Brewers lead to 6-4.
You bunt to create future moments, and the Brewers did just that.

Last spring…an athlete came to me and said…
“Wags, what can I do to earn more playing time?”
I said…”I know this is going to hurt but nothing.”
Sometimes a good weekend to regroup & take our time is needed 👊🐺. Also- keeping our brother JB and his family in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time. ❤️
Wolves head north this morning to Franklin, WI.
Scheduled sophomore pitchers:
Innings:

How simple is this BHB to 3B by Altuve. It’s about speed & direction versus surprise.
1) Early show.
2) Off the plate leaning in.
3) Elbows pointing down.
4) Barrel pointed towards the 1B coach.
5) Catching the ball on the bat.
6) Running after he sees the ball down.
Well. Scratch that….. field is drying up so we now WILL play today. Game is just moved back to 3pm at home vs Prairie State.
