Ryan Reynolds’ Mayday just made Apple TV history!
The Cold War action comedy starring Ryan Reynolds and Kenneth Branagh is now the most-watched Apple TV original movie ever during its first 18 days on the platform, following a massive streaming debut.
Mayday pulled in 8.7 million views in its first week and has remained near the top of Apple TV’s charts weeks after its September 4 release.

Thank you for making Mayday the biggest @AppleTV movie debut of all time. Sonnet 18 for everyone but especially the amazing Kenneth Branagh!
Got an early look at @AcademyMuseum’s Horror Show last night and it’s a blast. For a kid who grew up terrified of scary movies, I’m proud to say I made it through without crying.
That day on set when our star asked to pick up a shot for one of his other movies. #Mayday
If you get a chance to make a movie with these two, I highly recommend it. #Mayday
