I am super pumped to announce that I will be joining the @RedSox as the AA Assistant Hitting Coach! I cannot thank everyone at @DrivelineBB enough—specifically @TStokey, @AndrewAydt, @TalkingHitting, and @XX_Garrett—for giving me the opportunity to work and be a part of the amazing culture here. As well as @drivelinekyle for all his guidance and support! It’s been an incredible experience being part of this cohesive, competitive, and family-like atmosphere, learning something new every day. I will be remaining with Driveline through December before starting my journey with the Red Sox. To my family, my fiancée, and my extended family: you have loved and supported me throughout this crazy journey. Now it’s time for me to come back to the East Coast! Let’s go Sox!

A little more coaching shuffling in the Red Sox minors: Johnny Reina is taking over head hitting coach for Double-A Portland. Reina was leading the hitting group in Worcester for most of 2026 and consistently had guys ready to go when they needed them in the majors. Now has a chance to work with top prospects in Portland like Henry Godbout, Mason White, Justin Gonzales, and Jack Winnay in 2027.

Challenge Day with the iPitch: LH slider LH sinker Mixed pitch shapes and locations. The goal is simple: Make practice as hard as the game, or harder. If hitters are constantly comfortable in training, we probably aren’t preparing them for what the game is actually going to ask them to solve. Train the swing, but also train the decision-making, recognition, timing, and adjustability that show up when the game gets difficult.

Practice should not just train hitters to be successful in batting practice. Practice should create good hitters that translate to the game. - Change speeds - Change angles - Mix pitches and locations - Force hitters to read, recognize, adjust, and compete If every ball is predictable, we’re training to have prettier swings. Good swings are great, but ultimately, we’re trying to create hitters who can solve problems when the lights come on.

You should really care about swinging the bat faster. How you go about doing so is important for transfer to the game But adding +1 mph of bat speed will get you up to 4-7 feet of batted ball distance. and that will DRASTICALLY change your production
I think everyone is aware that offense is up across MiLB. I don't think most are aware of how much it is up. It's the highest run environment since the current MiLB system was formed in 1963. It's higher than any MLB season other than 1930. Story: baseballamerica.com/stories/…
