HR told me yesterday that my outfit was not "office wear" in line with dress code... I asked for specifics, but got none... so.... "Would you wear this to an office/school?!" The thread! ;)

#office_wear? Today's outfit.... Walking into school past SLT felt awful... wonder who's judging me today?! And did I pass?! Told yesterday I don't need to replace my whole wardrobe... but if they want a "conventional look" I probably do...

Parents evening and a parent tells me her daughter talks about me /my lessons all the time, loves Spanish & always feels really encouraged 💚 Such amazing feedback!! 🤩
Is it bad that I'm already counting down the weeks to the summer holidays?!? Seven. More. Weeks! 2 parents evenings and an NQT folder to find (I hate not having my own classroom!!) and fill up... 😬 BUT SEVEN WEEKS!!!!

So important! This needs to be a real option for parents, regardless of postcode and privilege (1st knowing it's an option, 2nd having the wherewithal to stand up to the local authority to exercise their parental right)

More climbing today!! Everyone pooped now... Busy week coming up with a birthday, covid vaccination and year 10 parents evening... roll on half term!

I hadn't realised it is #mentalhealth week when I made this decision! It was so lovely to see my year 11 today... they were so beautiful and welcoming! Meant a lot! ♥️♥️♥️

I went back to school today after 2 weeks off for stress (family issues) I decided to be honest with my students when they asked where I had been & model that it is okay to talk about & take care of your mental health! I ♥️ my students! No silliness, all lovely! ♥️

We went for a paddle!! Dinner was sushi drifting down stream followed by dolmades in the car! :) 2 tired, happy boys!! Then I finished my own rainbow hat... so now our "uniforms" are complete! 😁 Boys get misgendered quite often, but don't seem to mind & ♥️ their hats so 🤷‍♀️

We have enough kayaks for the whole family now!!! Have wanted a double kayak for so long!! You know where to find us now.... We'll be climbing or paddling all summer!! ♥️♥️♥️

Mental health day!!! Everyone was feeling it Thursday night, so I told school boys were having a mental health day (I'm signed off for 2 weeks...) and we spent the whole day at the climbing wall! These 2 are LEGENDS!!!! ♥️♥️♥️

I got signed off on Wednesday... it was SO HARD to admit I need it... so much guilt for leaving my students... but major stuff at home + my own kids... Grateful to some very loving colleagues for talking sense into me... Better to gently put down 1 ball than drop them all!
