Respectfully, every era had/has tough competition. No doubt about it. Money was not a major factor to bring in more players or make competition harder in fighting games. We built a scene/culture from scratch welcoming people of every background to compete as equals. This is what drove us to get better, to push our scene, adapt to playing conditions, new games, regional pride, etc. Not for money or sponsorships, that came way later after we built the infrastructure so new players can enjoy what we worked so hard to do for decades. So let’s be respectful of every era moving forward and keep it moving 👊
