Come back to work after a week off and they increased our meeting frequency and changed the times. How do I function with this much disruption to my routine?

Trisket and pork shoulder. These not nosed little brat 10 year olds better appreciate how great they are going to eat.

My daughter has been very demanding about her birthday party. Not in a rude brat way. In a way that shows she has a vision of what it should look like. My wife told her she needs to temper her expectations. I wanted to agree and disagree at the same time. I just couldn’t put my finger on why. Nothing she’s wanted has been expensive or extravagant. Then it hit me. Vision, that’s why. She doesn’t need to temper anything. She needs to learn to convey that vision as clearly as possible. Almost all success in life boils down to clearly conveying your vision. Either for you or others to follow. Plenty of people are bold visionaries. Not as many can convey that vision to themselves clearly let alone others.

Millennials must sign a blood pact for the younger generations. To never drive 10 under on a two way highway like a boomer.

Sadly this won't be ready by the party. Just not enough time with all the other priorities that have to happen. That said, the kids and I plan to finish it after anyways.
I was on the fence of committing to building this but I thought about it and I'm all in. I want my kids to see we live in a world where you can just do things. Too many damn people are stuck on the "I cant" or some other doomerism. If that's you, knock it off.

I’m now pleading with people to please remove fixtures and outlet covers when painting. It’s actually easier than painting or taping around them.

A little more shop time tonight and the corners are down. Cross braces next. Fingers crossed I can pull this off in time.

I love this timeline. I’m outside doing house stuff and come inside to find my printer finished a working claw.

Managed 1h shop time so far into vacation. Cut a bit more, remapped the table, and loaded a new sheet. She’s running me too hard on this house stuff.

I don’t vouch for many people but I 100% do for Corey. Crazy smart guy and great person. Someone needs to hire him.
I'm currently looking for a new #remote #software #development role. I have 12 years experience and have led a team for the last 5 years.
