🚨 #Breaking - The State of Israel 🇮🇱 confirms “a cornerstone-laying ceremony was held for Israel’s new embassy in Hargeisa.”
The first embassy in Hargeisa is coming shortly, who will be 2nd?

Ambassador Michael Lotem @LotemMichael will be residing at the Israeli Embassy in Hargeisa, Republic of #Somaliland.
Huge developments.
Israel’s Ambassador Michael Lotem presenting his credentials to President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi in Hargeisa, together with the cornerstone-laying for Israel’s embassy, marks a concrete and welcome step in the growing partnership between Israel and Somaliland following their mutual recognition in December 2025.
Israel’s Ambassador to Somaliland, Michael Lotem, presented his credentials to President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi last week in a historic ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Hargeisa.
The ceremony marks another important step in strengthening relations between Israel and Somaliland, following their mutual recognition on December 26, 2025.
Since then, ties between the two countries have continued to develop. Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar made a historic visit to Somaliland in January 2026, while Somaliland opened its embassy in Jerusalem during President Abdullahi’s visit to Israel in June 2026.
Following the presentation of credentials, a cornerstone-laying ceremony was held for Israel’s new embassy in Hargeisa.
Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said:
“Israel is determined to develop and strengthen its relations with Somaliland.
“The appointment of ambassadors, in accordance with the agreement reached when our countries established mutual recognition, is another important step in deepening the ties between us.”
🛬 Major sovereignty move in the Republic of #Somaliland
Two Israeli flights landed in Hargeisa over last week, entirely bypassing Mogadishu and operating strictly with the independent approval of Somaliland. One of the flights carried Israel’s newly appointed ambassador to Somaliland, Michael Lotem, to formally present his credentials in the capital.
Despite the Federal Government of Somalia claiming total control over the region's airspace, Mogadishu is left furious and powerless to stop the arrivals. This directly demonstrates Somaliland's absolute operational sovereignty and de facto control on the ground.

The Government of Somaliland’s clear condemnation of attacks on Ethiopian (Oromo) nationals in Borama, along with the parallel statements from local civil society and political leaders, is the right and necessary response.
The Government of Somaliland has strongly condemned the targeting of Ethiopian nationals in Borama, stressing that those responsible must be held accountable in accordance with the law. Borama’s civil society and political leaders have also condemned ethnic violence, discrimination, and attempts to fuel tensions across borders, calling for lasting peace and stability in the region.
Their shared message reinforces a fundamental principle, no one should be targeted because of their nationality or ethnicity!!
Somaliland’s values of hospitality and peaceful coexistence must extend to everyone, our Oromo brothers and sisters deserve dignity, security, and equal protection under the law. Ethnicity must never justify discrimination or violence.

Moroccans are discovering the beauty of the blessed Republic of #Somaliland.
Will they soon share a place as Abraham Accord countries?
It's hard to believe that such a beautiful region is part of Somalia. This is truly #Somaliland, the peaceful country overlooking the Red Sea ❤️🇲🇦
The people of the Kingdom of Morocco 🇲🇦 are coming in thousands to support the Republic of #Somaliland following Somalia’s hypocrisy in violating Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Abaarso is one of Somaliland’s clearest success stories.
Founded in 2009 outside Hargeisa, Abaarso School of Science and Technology has produced the first cohorts of Somaliland students in decades to earn places at top universities - including Harvard, MIT, Yale, Brown, Columbia, and others - securing tens of millions of dollars in scholarships.
It became the only American-accredited high school in the region, operates on merit-based admissions that draw far more applicants than seats, and has expanded into the broader Abaarso Network (including Barwaaqo University, the country’s first all-women’s teachers college).
The story of #Abaarso is a success story of Somaliland. Many familiar faces here. A well-put-together documentary by #Abdi_Aa.

🚨 Game changer for #Somaliland.
Newly acquired armed drones (72-hr endurance, 2,200+ km range, 500 kg payload) mean the National Defence Force can now reach Mogadishu (~850–1,000 km) and hold targets deep in the Horn at risk.
This is a major leap in deterrence and strategic defence — projecting power, securing territory, and shifting the regional balance. Strength = stability. 🟩🔳🟥

The Abraham Accords is not just an aspiration of the Republic of #Somaliland it’s a long held principle.
The Abrahamic Movement UK is getting underway. At a meeting in London attended by local leaders from the Jewish, Iranian, Somaliland and Kurdish communities, and Arab supporters of the Abraham Accords, we announced a new path: a local alternative in Britain to the extremist movements.
Our communities in Britain are suffering a complete loss of their security in the shadow of violence from extremist movements. It is not only the Jewish community that fears the rise of extremism: the Iranian opposition community, the Somaliland community, moderate Muslims, the Kurds and minorities such as the Druze and Alawites also suffer harassment and violence from incited extremists. So do Christians.
The founding of the Abrahamic Movement UK heralds a new dawn for the Abrahamic communities, a moderate alliance that will raise a new and unifying voice in Britain, an authentic voice from the Middle East that heralds Abrahamic peace and a shared vision in which there is room for everyone.
Just as important, it will create a community of communities, which will no longer feel so alone in the face of violent and extremist forces.
🚨 #Breaking - Following US and UN pulling aid and funding for the failed State of Somalia, Uganda has confirmed they have started withdrawing UPDF troops out of Somalia as their salaries will no longer be covered.
