WHAT. JUST. HAPPENED. 🤯

Great resource providing contextual insight into High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) as part of overall endurance training programming 🙌🏽 @StephenSeiler
This is the piece of science writing I am most happy with in 2024. I am thankful the Editor decided to make it open access!

Not competitive… the disrespect to the Euro XC is outrageous - Kimeli, Schrub, Heymans, Ndikumwenayo are all comparable to Blanks and got nowhere near close to beating JI
LetsRun question of the day: if NCAA XC champ Graham Blanks and Euro XC champ Jakob Ingebrigtsen raced a 10k cross country race right now with current fitness, who would win?

Interesting take considering the Head-Head record between them all at 1500:
JI vs Hocker 6-1
JI vs Kerr 14-3
JI vs Nuguse 5-2
JI vs Wightman 9-4
This has got to be one of the best track performances ever… 7:17 for 3000m is an absolute scandal 🤯
Imagine averaging 58.34 per 400m for 7.5 laps 🤯
Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s 3000m world record of 7:17.55 at the @MemorialKamili is something else ‼️

Great article by @sweatscience …. those involved in Athletics between 2002-2012 know who the real Goat is - and he’s still going strong in 2024!
Kenenisa Bekele is running the Olympic marathon this weekend. He also recently co-authored his first scientific paper, arguing that tech innovations like supershoes and pacing lights (which helped break his WRs) deserve an asterisk in the record books.
