If Kirk Cousins hits free agency, I'd be interested in the Vikings adding Sam Darnold as a bridge QB. He was Shanahan's priority FA last year and sets a good bar for a rookie QB to clear.

A different, positive spin s that the Wolves have a successful case study with an in-season arthroscopic knee surgery to a star player... Karl-Anthony Towns had one done on March 12, 2024, and was *incredible* on their playoff run that year. Rehab kept him in phenomenal shape and he hit the ground running in a major way coming back from that.

It's so refreshing that every player on the Timberwolves has a defined role and seems to be filling it enthusiastically.

Tim Connelly deserves a lot of apologies (again).

Obviously the offense needs to be better, but I hate how people talk about the defense like it’s just something they are lucky to have and not part of the team.
Vikings have such a luxury. Can stink it up all day, but that defense always keeps them in striking distance. Score 1 TD and just like that, you good!

This is only true when the offense can *at least* chew up clock and hang onto the ball. A luxury they did not have last season.

I don't like your tone.
Disagree! How many stars does Brian Flores have in Minnesota right now? He has the No. 1 defense by a mile and they might not have a single All-Pro defender on that side of the ball.

Brian Flores is a genius who can identify/utilize talent in a way that most coaches can't, but I don't think it's fair to the players to frame them as a collection of bums. They have a lot of talent!!

Having the league's best defense is awesome and the offense is clearly settling into a balanced rhythm. Enough whining about the weird start. This is a really good Vikings team.

The gap between the Vikings defense at #1 and Seahawks defense at #2 is the same as the gap between #2 and the Bengals defense at #14

Welcome back 2016 Vikings
Donovan Jackson is likely out for the season with a meniscus tear, per KOC. Brutal blow for the Vikings. Christian Darrisaw is in the concussion protocol.

I think Kyler Murray will play better with Justin Jefferson. It's hard not to get excited about that.

The reporting on McCarthy has gotten out of control; it’s gone from being “he’s been super underwhelming” to becoming a character assassination on him. Minnesota media, led by Alec Lewis of The Athletic, are so absurdly biased against him. Journalistically unprofessional.

I think the Vikings are fortunate to have both Kevin O'Connell and Brian Flores in the building.

Both coaches have a lot to prove this year, but they've earned the benefit of the doubt. Their involvement in the front office concerns me more but the team already addressed this.

Is J.J. McCarthy the worst professional athlete to cause hysteria like this?

Running the pre-covid Kirk Fan playbook after Sam Darnold already showed us what a real QB looks like in Minnesota
People on this app would routinely try to tell me that Kirk wasn’t a sniper. The vast majority of Vikings fans would take anyone who could replicate his production, or even come close to it.

The Vikings paid Kirk to be the missing piece for the best Vikings team we've seen since 2009 and he fell short over and over and over while the price tag INCREASED. Enjoy the compilations of the highlights (there were good moments) but don't misrepresent why fans were upset.

Ironically, the Timberwolves will be asking Kuminga to be their version of Golden State Wiggins.

This is a fantastic outcome for the Timberwolves. There are a lot of mouths to feed on offense... but they finally have a point guard to get everyone involved.
Kuminga is still carrying the reputation of a "failed" lottery pick, but adding his talent on the veteran minimum would be such a massive value. I'm all in on that. I always thought his playoff series against the Wolves was underrated.
