I decided to get an iPhone Air while I wait for the iPhone Duo.
This device is amazing; the camera is good for what I want it for, which is capturing memories with my family. If the Duo camera is like this one, I will not have any problem using the Duo as a daily driver.
Battery is also fine for my usage.
My honest thoughts after 24 hours with the iPhone Duo:
Pros:
• The big screen is amazing
• Finally a foldable inside the Apple ecosystem… my family doesn't have to change anything
• The nano texture feels like glass, not plasticky
• The front screen is super compact
• It doesn't slip… I can basically use it without a case
• Back camera selfies with the Ultra Wide are so handy (nothing new for foldables, but still)
Cons:
• The hinge feels premium but… different
• Battery isn't great yet (it's still indexing)
• It gets a little hot, probably from that too
• The back button is on the right in optimized apps and on the left in unoptimized ones 😅
• It's heavy, but not break your hand heavy
Surprise: I don't miss Face ID like I thought I would.
I still think the Fold 8 is better in a lot of areas… but this feels like my main phone until the Duo 2 😅😅
I'm glad I went with this color, it looks really nice in person… although black would've been a better option for me
I have to give it to Meta… Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Threads and Muse all already work great on my iPhone Duo 😅😅 day 2 and they feel made for it
I really hope that Apple keeps getting all the feedback and keeps fixing stuff. Hardware is really good, but there are a few software things that I would love for them to fix, and this is one of them.
Wait… Apple's own case needs a software fix to work with Apple's own phone? 👀👀
The more I see about this case the less I like it. Is this a dealbreaker for you?

The prompt shows a built-in optional iOS setting to optimize the iPhone Duo's outer display for cases that may partially cover the left edge; it is not a software fix or update needed for the case to function.

First thing that goes on my iPhone Duo Friday 👇
@spigen GlasTR EZ Fit for the outer screen. I've used it on all my foldables and it's always been great 😅 2-

Not having Face ID will feel weird for a few days, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. What I'm really curious about is how hidden notification previews will work with Touch ID. That feature was built around Face ID, and it's one I use a lot 👀
My 5 year old is going to take my Duo the second she finds out she can draw on it… I already know I'm losing this one 😅😅
Apple Pencil support for the iPhone Duo is reportedly coming with iOS 27.2 next week 🔥
The feature already works in the iOS 27.2 RC. Apple previously said it would arrive “later this year”

What I'm checking out first this Friday after picking up my iPhone Duo 👇
• Outdoor visibility on both screens
• Can the camera keep up with kids who never stand still
• Battery on a full day with no charger
• Which apps are optimized for the Duo on day 1
• Coming from my 18 Pro Max, what do I actually miss
Anything else I should check out?
