It says something for the surrealism of this government that the Sunday Sport seems to have a far stronger grip on reality than the cabinet.
You just know this will end this way. We have a political leadership that is utterly incapable of saying no to things like this.
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham is “open” to payouts in health and education for Commonwealth countries to make up for Britain’s role in the slave trade
[@Telegraph]
I’d love him to turn it around but I just can’t imagine how he will do so considering he is entirely reluctant to change anything about the team. Even within games.
🚨 Régis Le Bris’ position as Sunderland Head Coach is safe — and he continues to have the full support and confidence of Sunderland’s hierarchy.
🇫🇷 The Frenchman remains central to #SAFC plans and ambitions, despite the club sitting bottom of the Premier League table. The belief within the club is the 50-year-old will turn things around.
⬇️ There is an internal recognition that recent Premier League results have been disappointing, and the club understand current frustrations felt by supporters.
🫡 The club believe stability, collective responsibility and a united approach is the way forward for #SAFC as they look to achieve their ambitions, both domestically and in Europe.

I just know Patrick Stewart is walking along in heaven, seeing a beautiful girl whose clothes have just fallen off, and she's scrabbling around to get them back on again, but even before she can get her knickers on, Patrick's seen everything.
Very funny use of the word civilian
🚨 22,499 Ofcom complaints have now been submitted about Omar on Big Brother.
He is the most complained about civilian in the history of the show. These complaints span three episodes last week, tripling the initial 7k complaints made after one show. It’s Ofcom’s fifth largest incident ever. #BBUK

Glen Johnson speaking about Jordan Henderson on ITV just now: “Chelsea bought him in for his experience because you know you can’t buy that kind of experience”.
“to save households up to £21 on their food shop a year”
🚨 NEW: Andy Burnham has announced five "everyday fixes" ahead of the Budget
1. Carer's Allowance will be changed so carers no longer lose their entire benefit when they earn over the limit - instead, their support will reduce by £1 for every extra £1 they earn
2. Import tariffs will be removed on more than 100 products, including baked beans, chocolate and gherkins, to save households up to £21 on their food shop a year
3. Tax-free mileage rates for workers using their own cars will be made permanent at 55p per mile for the first 10,000 miles, with the rate for additional miles rising from 25p to 35p
4. Parental pay will be extended to over 150,000 more parents a year, including self-employed fathers and partners
5. Hundreds more Post Office drop boxes will be rolled out to save people queueing at branches

Student loans were sold to students as "you'll earn more, so it's only fair you pay some of that back towards your education cost"
Unless changed, of the five plans students are on - three of the repayment thresholds will now be *below* the minimum wage.

Just seen Corrie St and I think Ken Barlow is one of the greatest actors ever. Better than Michael Caine and Tom Cruise. Maybe even Brando
I wonder if it’s written down somewhere that you have to use a photo of the least likely person to do the thing a poster is saying not to do, or if it’s just tacitly understood to be the rule.
I for one am sick of these young women on their own blasting out music on trains.
