They survived a volcanic eruption, returned home, and discovered that even breathing could be dangerous. 😳
On Japan's Miyakejima island, residents had to carry gas masks because poisonous volcanic gases continued escaping from the mountain.
What gets me is how much a place must mean to someone for them to accept such risks just to call it home.
Would you have returned, or started a new life somewhere else?
A 20-year-old woman survived a mid-air collision at over 5,000 meters and three days alone in the wilderness.
On August 24, 1981, Larisa Savitskaya was returning from her honeymoon on Aeroflot Flight 811 when the Antonov An-24 collided with a Soviet military Tupolev Tu-16 over the Amur region.
The collision occurred at roughly 5,220 meters. She was the sole survivor.
She remained conscious during the fall inside a fragment of the aircraft that landed in a swampy forest area.
She suffered a concussion, broken bones, and other injuries.
Rescuers found her on the third day.
Soviet authorities initially restricted public details of the accident,
she later spoke about it more openly.

Interesting video where it seemed like Nicki Minaj was trying to show something behind her and now we realize that the 11 second mark there is a black swan.

Floodwaters had destroyed the ground beneath a railway track. A train carrying more than 2,000 passengers was approaching and two men had only a red scarf to stop it.
August 20, 2017. Tangail, Bangladesh.
Balaram Rajbangshi was heading to his fish shop when he noticed something terrifying.
Floodwater had washed away earth beneath the railway tracks near a bridge.
A train crossing that section could derail.
And the Nilsagar Express was approaching.
Balaram alerted his friend Nayeb Ali and other local residents.
They knew the train was due within minutes.
There was no time to wait for railway officials.
So they found a red scarf, tied it to a bamboo pole, and began waving it frantically toward the approaching train.
The locomotive was roughly 500 metres away when they signalled.
The driver saw them.
He applied the brakes.
The train stopped before reaching the damaged section.
More than 2,000 passengers were reportedly aboard.
Most had no idea how close their journey had come to disaster.
There were no sophisticated warning systems involved.
Just two ordinary men, a piece of red cloth, and the courage to act before it was too late.
Sometimes, saving thousands of lives begins with noticing something everyone else missed.
Would you have known what to do in their situation?
🚨 Trump keeps BOTH doors open on Iran: "Maybe tomorrow" on a strike — or a "big, beautiful" deal. Asked Saturday how close the US is to fresh strikes, he said: "Do you really think I'd tell you that? There's a possibility I will." But he also repeated his pledge: NO attack before the Nov 3 midterms. Iran claims it shot down a US drone over Bandar Abbas. The clock is ticking. ⏰
