It was marketed as: - 2 years until permanent underclass - you’ll all lose your jobs - your skills will be worthless - we’re going to replace you - your entire career is now a $20/month subscription All in an already terrible job market btw. Possibly the most important technology humanity has ever built, with some of the worst marketing imaginable. The labs completely failed communicating the tech, miserably bad and only improved just end of last year. How did anyone expect that to make people excited?
it's pretty bleak to me how unpopular AI is in spite of how transformatively useful it is

Shermichael Singleton and Kurt Schlichter both shilling for Scott Colom. So many phony conservatives quick to jump on the bandwagon of a Dem who says a few half way moderate things. Dave Brooks- Obama moment.

Last few days I’ve seen a black “conservative” say the GOP was rightfully punished for getting ride of majority black districts, Latino “conservatives” saying that the GOP lost for deporting people here illegally, and Indian “conservatives” saying that they won’t vote for …..

Republicans if the GOP wants to limit visas for Indians. Seems that various minority “conservatives” will bail as soon as they don’t get special privileges or carve out.

Also a text from a candidate for an obscure state office is enough for people who claim to be conservative to vote blue. It seems that these groups put ethnic solidarity above anything else. Yet whites will vote for candidates that openly hate them

The Senate is sitting on 600 bills the House of Representatives passed. They couldn't even pass a bill that stopped the sending of 40 million dollars weekly to the Taliban. This is Thune's fault

All you need to know about John Thune is that he’s the first Senate Majority Leader in American history to block a president from his own party from making recess appointments. Speaker Johnson should not have fallen on his sword. This guy should.
Over the last two years, Senate Republicans have put up a strong record of accomplishment that’s created safer streets, more money in Americans’ pockets, and new opportunities for families and businesses to get ahead. After fighting Democrat obstruction at every turn, we prevented the largest tax hike in American history, secured our border in an unprecedented way, confirmed the president’s Cabinet at the fastest pace in two decades, and put strong conservative judges on benches across the country faster than we have since the Reagan administration. I’m proud of our team and everything we’ve done for the American people, and I’m looking forward to the important work we have in front of us over the next few months. As we head into 2027, Senate Republicans will not stand idly by as the far-left, socialist wing of the Democrat Party attempts to unwind everything we’ve done. Thankfully, we still have President Trump in the White House, and we’ll work with him to stop the worst impulses of Democrat extremism. We cannot let their fringe positions become the mainstream.

Yes and no. Iran raised prices and people associate the two. That’s a fact. However, due to our declining domestic situation, Americans don’t want to hear about ANY foreign country. None. Ever. They don’t care about Ukraine, Russia, Israel, Iran, or even Venezuela.
Replying to @JesseKellyDC
So people generally don’t actually care about the Iran War in and of itself, right? Just the fact that it raised prices?

Abolish the filibuster, pass the SAVE Act. End blue slips. Confirm judges. Go into recess, Trump makes appointments. You sabotaged the country. You are a demon inside a human skin suit.

This is unbelievably pathetic, dishonest, and cowardly, but it's the angle that the neo cons are taking. Trump launched a pointless and unpopular war. People like this were cheerleaders for it. We told them it would be a disaster and we were right. And now that we've been 100 percent vindicated and proven correct, the very disaster that we warned against and predicted is actually our fault because we failed to "frame the Iran war as necessary." It's not Trump's fault for launching the war. It's not his fault for failing to make a compelling argument for it. It's not the fault of the people who promoted the war and waved their pompoms for it. No it's our fault for not ignoring our own convictions and obediently getting in line with Trump and doing what he tells us. Yes the responsibility to make a persuasive argument for Trump's war falls not on Trump himself or on the war's biggest fans but on the conservative critics of the war. This is so deluded and cultish and backwards that I want to say I'm shocked, but I'm actually not shocked at all. These people will twist an contort themselves into any shape to avoid any and all accountability. Pathetic. Grotesque.
The messaging from conservatives like Matt Walsh over the last 6 months is a major reason the GOP lost control of Congress. Matt Walsh and co. have the platform to frame the Iran war as one that is necessary, but chose to undercut Trump and help Democrats. The conflict with Iran is not pointless. Iran had the time, the intent, and the resources to build a nuke. The point of the war is to remove the time and/or resource variables. Ignoring the nuclear Iran risk would not have made the problem disappear. Rather, it would have just deferred the issue to the next president—a far less capable commander in chief. That Trump handle this issue now, rather than leaving a nuclear-threshold Iran for an AOC, Harris, or Newsom administration in 2028, is in our best national interest. Trump’s “no new wars” stance reflected a preference against open-ended nation-building and wars. It didn’t mean he’d pretend Iran didn’t have the time, intentions, and resources to create a nuke and kick it to a less capable president in a few years.

Shapiro will definitely win in my state of PA tomorrow. I hope I’m wrong but I think Dems will keep that state House and win the State Senate. Dems already have the state courts. Buckle up PA it’s going to be rough

There is an important reason that the right never wins the culture war overall, despite the left being so poor at tactics that they often end up shooting their own feet. That is the reality that logistics are more important than tactics, and tactics only matter once you have sorted logistics out. The left has sorted logistics out by creating patronage networks, while the right refuses to do so because it's still controlled by a curious kind of boomer paleoliberal who thinks that "free market" means "everything should pay for itself". Thus, both the cultural and political struggles of the right must be waged by broke young men as a side project to their careers, while fighting for the left is a career. The young men fighting for the right are simply expected to purchase their own rifles, ammunition, uniforms and kit, provide their own transport to the front, then organize themselves into units to defeat the communists. If you understand this, then you will understand why the retards manage to win a lot despite being retards. The left is giving people 100K fellowships for writing lesbian novels, while the right is charging its own guys $200 to listen to some theoretical ramblings about the antichrist. No, that's not a metaphor. I wish I had made either of those two facts up as some sort of hyperbole. Only the left understands how to get and use political power. The left understands that power is a form of currency. So if you want it, you have to buy it, with some other form of currency. Such as money. The right thinks that political power is a side effect... something that you naturally accumulate while doing business. Possibly this is because most wealthy right-wing people are investors. They start a project, or put money into it, and they expect to get their money back and then some. That's what they are used to. That's how investment works. But that's not how power works. And if you have wealth, but no power, then the people with power will just take whatever you built. I don't know exactly what the tech right, the business right, the wealthy right, should be spending on political power. But what they are spending is clearly not enough and in the wrong places. Because George Soros sure as hell isn't selling people tickets to listen to him talk.
As a young man in Republican politics I can explain why we don't "just volunteer" Positions are unpaid or underpaid, men are expected to be breadwinners We can't afford to hold these roles consistently Also the GOP actively pushes to have Less Men in Leadership

I can tell you exactly what will happen if Democrats regain power: They will use your money to fly deported illegal aliens back to America and pay them settlements. They will re-open our borders and ship millions of foreign people to any community they want. And they won't stop until America becomes an unrecognizable country.

Happy to discuss ideas. Your ideas suck.
“Great minds discuss ideas; small minds discuss people.” Too much fighting over online personalities these days. Many people doing so purposefully to distract from the ideas being smuggling by bad people into the Right. Sean if you’d like to discuss ideas, I’m game.

The reason the vices are now a ‘lower priority’ for libertarians is because they’ve become ubiquitous: There’s a permanent cloud of pot smoke, in many parts of the country there are quasi legal homeless encampments that serve as 24/7 fentanyl/ meth parties, a significant proportion of the population is engaged in a form of soft prostitution via Only Fans, and online gambling is a huge industry. I guess the only thing left is ready access to ‘assisted death’ pods but don’t worry that’s coming. Libertarians should own this stuff and try to make the case for it now that the externalities can be tallied. But they lack character and won’t engage and so that’s why you get this ‘Erm… we don’t even care about that stuff’ cop out from them.
During the last four presidential elections, the libertarians ran a candidate who loudly supported legalizing drugs, legalizing, prostitution, protecting pornography from regulation, and ensuring that babies in the womb could continue to be murdered. And you don’t win anything. So yeah, forgive me if I don’t take you seriously as a moral or capable political party.

Businesses are forced to comply with a gazillion regulations crafted by big business lobbyists. We have to put corn in gasoline, for God’s sake. But the minute businesses might be forced to employ Americans, the cries of “FREE MARKETS!” fly into the sky like a horde of locusts
With all due respect, Mr Vice-President @JDVance, businesses must be free to hire and fire as they need, subject to the demands of the rule of law. Absent that freedom, the dynamism and prosperity that creates jobs in the first place will soon disappear.
