In the past two days I’ve been verbally harassed and followed multiple times by older men when making my way home. Every time it’s happened I’ve been minding my business and having a conversation with a friend or family member and it’s led to the man getting progressively 1/2

more aggressive and I’ve been unsure about my safety despite being surrounded by people. Please if you feel safe speak up when you see harassment or at least invite the harassed person to your group as this is often enough to stop it happening. It’s a scary time to be a woman.

I don’t cover Mother’s Day because sadly my mum passed away - sometimes editors will add in lines on Mother’s Day to articles I’ve written but I’ve been very vocal in the past on this and asked to be removed from mailing lists because it’s an auto delete.

One of them was addressed directly to me. I’ve collected it today when finally we’re past the constant stream of Mother’s Day emails and I’m honestly so disturbed by this. For one it’s absolutely not my best and something I wouldn’t cover but it’s also upsetting

And quite frankly disturbing to look at? I can’t imagine anyone would enjoy opening a cards with women in various stages of decay with messages about their mothers ashes inside but it’s especially tone deaf to send this to someone who openly doesn’t cover MD as it’s sensitive
