More governors coming out swinging. This is what we need to see. Where we have power, we use the power. Where we don't have power, we build the power.
Washington has gone toe-to-toe with Trump before and we’re ready to do it again. Your rights are protected here. We will continue to lead on reproductive rights, climate action, immigrant rights, and more.

There will be 1,000 post mortems that claim Dems didn't try to reach working class voters. But this is largely an evasion. It elides the tougher questions, which are: *Why* weren't working class voters moved by the most pro-labor admin in recent memory, by massive new investments in industrial policy, and by an immense effort to communicate all of this (and the realities of Trump's anti-worker agenda) to them? *Why* did working class voters prioritize inflation concerns over good economic policy (cc @ericlevitz)?
This is sobering, but I have a sincere question about it: The Harris campaign/Ds ran over $200 million in ads about the economy. Much of this messaging *did* emphasize a specific program and *did* employ populist appeals. As @daveweigel reported, this stuff was *constantly* discussed on the stump and went largely unreported. The Q we need to ask is: *Why* didn't this break through w/working class voters? The claim that there was no effort to reach them elides this harder question.

The millionaire trying to overturn WA’s Climate Commitment Act calls CCA projects “lollipops” that go to “grifters.” The reality: These projects improve air & water for all of us, and benefit school kids, Tribes, low-income families & commuters. 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼 kitsapsun.com/story/opinion/…

And here’s the TLDR of tonight’s debate. Vance offered a master class in how to gaslight a nation.

On this #LaborDay, I’m so proud to see WA continue to be among the top states for workers👷🏽‍♀️🧑🏻‍🚒🧑🏾‍💼My dad was a Machinist and union pride runs deep in our family. We all benefit from fair compensation and safe, fair work conditions 💪🏼 Check this thread to see WA highlights!
The best and worst states for workers in 2024. While Congress fails to pass universal access to paid leave, rights to organize and higher wages, many workers are stuck in cyclical patterns of poverty. A thread🧵

This headline is everything. 🙌🏼 WA’s shortage of services for people awaiting competency evaluation & restoration has been one of our toughest policy challenges. The solutions have been years in the making. Kudos to @waDSHS @GovInslee @Dhingrama @AGOWA and their policy staff 👏🏼

Who else is tired of these displays of faux DEI outrage? 🙋🏻‍♀️ @WADeptHealth is absolutely right to work with communities that are least likely to have access to health care on strategies that improve access - for those communities, and for all Washingtonians.

Very excited to see @NickBrownNow @BobFergusonAG @RyanMelloTacoma and @EmilyRandallWA moving onward to the general. Ally tried to stay awake to watch the results but I’ll have to fill her in in the morning. #waelex
