It's possible the cutting room floor is full of embarrassing errors. If not, this looks to have raised the bar. Deep Mind amazes yet again.
“AGI is still decades away, calm down” If this Gemini demo is remotely accurate, it’s showing broader intelligence than a non-zero fraction of adult humans *already* lol

The Glasgow Climate Pact is agreed. @theCCCuk will shortly publish a stocktake of where we stand after #COP26, including advice on the UK Presidency’s role for the next year. Tonight I’ll just reflect that we have a new platform for even greater global ambition. Hope we use it. – at Glasgow, Scotland

So, with the fresh negotiating text emerging this morning, I thought a new thread on the final (or is it?!?) day of COP was warranted. Things will no doubt change during the day, but the text plus a few things caught my eye overnight #COP26 #EdinUniCOP26 1/n

Children living in poverty are facing huge challenges made worse by #coronavirus, including a greater risk of violence. Their protection must be part of the global response. Today I spoke at the Board of @GPtoEndViolence with @unicefchief to discuss what more we need to do.

Children seem less vulnerable to the #COVID19 virus, but secondary impacts on them are devastating. We may face a "child rights crisis", with eg. school closures, disruption of livelihoods, home confinement & isolation being triggers for violence against children. #EndViolence

Almost all students in the world are now out of school due to #COVID19. While some schools are offering distance learning, this is not available to all. Children’s education must remain a priority as we continue the fight against #coronavirus. bit.ly/2VgfF25
